Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to share my monthly coffee chat!

Today, I’ll be enjoying a chai latte. It’s my go-to drink!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how September went! Honestly it was crazy! I started the month in Mexico, on vacation in Acapulco. I also spent time with family members after not having seen them in two years, which isn’t a ton all things considered, but I was glad to see them! It was really great to see my grandfather too, since he is well into his 90s now. I’m so grateful I was able to make the trip.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, all about my friend’s get together recently! It ended up being a mini work reunion from my pre-pandemic job, which was SO FUN. We had a really good time, hanging out and enjoying a delicious dinner together. And while we tried not to chat about work, it of course came up. A good number of us now work at the same company I went to, and so it’s just inevitable I suppose! But it was nice to see that we all ended up back in our same industry.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, all about my plans for NaNoWriMo! Or lack thereof. I still need to finalize my plans for what I will write. I have a few new ideas, but nothing that I’m SUPER excited about. And if I’m not super excited, then it’s tough to decide on a project. I think I have a potential good idea though, so we shall see!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, how I finally got a tarot deck! My local library scheduled a tarot class and provided a tarot deck for the class. The class was a tad disappointing as I joined via the Instagram live at first, only for the audio not to work. By the time I realized no one was checking the comments and switched to Facebook live, it was pretty much half over. Still, it has been fun to pull a few cards here and there and start reading tarot cards.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I cannot believe how crazy the housing market still is! Earlier this year I started going to open houses. Then about one or two weekends ago I noticed how crazy it’s getting again. I think people are trying to buy and make sure they get into their new home for the holidays as it’s been insane. I’ve seen multiple homes go for sale on a Wednesday or something, have an open house scheduled for the weekend immediately after, and then see the open house get cancelled on Friday because the house has sold! I even went to an open house scheduled only to be turned away at the door because the house had sold! I let the woman know that the house was still listed online as available with the open house and I hope no one else made the drive all the way there since that was honestly pretty frustrating! (She was very apologetic about it as I was apparently the first to show up and let her know but the house still had a sign out front that it was for sale and it didn’t say it was sold online until hours after the open house should have ended so I’m sure she did get a few more people show up. Big yikes!)
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, all about work! It’s been going very well, and now I’m planning a fake event LOL. How did this happen? Well I decided that since my team had projects we were all working on, I’d give us a deadline and a day to “present” our work. I’ve gone all out so far! I created a fake registration and housing page (shout out to Google Forms), promotional materials (shout out to Canva), and even presenter badges (again Canva!). My team is so excited for it! They have since decided on a dress code (flannel as it’s scheduled for November) and asked for a key note speaker (which is fun considering the budget is literally $0) (our manager is going to be the key note speaker as her rate happens to be within budget though). It’s been fun, and I’m looking forward to our conference in Virtual Lake Tahoe.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, about Foxy’s update! He’s been the goodest boy lately. He behaved beautifully for his boarder earlier last month when I was on vacation, he is much closer to his grandpa, and he (mostly) behaves while I’m working. He has been so well behaved and he even learned to walk through a hoop! (He was supposed to jump through it but he has no interest in jumping.)
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, about my monthly challenge! My challenge in September had been journaling daily. I think I could have leaned into that goal a bit more, but I’ll have to share more in my next post on it!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, all about my Year 31 goal, create inspiration! I think I’ve done a good job of this. I did post pictures of my vacation on Insta and I really felt like it inspired me to stay in that chill vacation mindset. I also find myself taking inspiration from the start of a new season to make other changes in my life. I’m so excited to share more on that later, but for now I’ll share that it’s really fun stuff!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, about my 2022 goal, again, but better. I think this has gone well too. I am always looking for ways to do something better and I do think that it’s been going well! I really enjoyed how my vacation went, and I think I finally got a good balance between exploring Mexico and hanging out with my grandfather. I also really enjoyed how smoothly my transition back went (thank you to my great coworkers who did a great job covering for me!) and also just saying yes to cool opportunities once I was home.
So that’s what I would share if we were having coffee! I’m so excited for what October will bring!
Thanks for reading!
Pamela
