Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to share all the fun hobbies I’ve been up to this month!

Overall, it’s been a pretty low-key month. So hopefully this post won’t be terribly long like it normally is!
My Lively
Creative Fun
DIYs
This month I did two DIY projects at my local library. The first was paper bunny tails, which was simple but time consuming as I only managed to finish two out of six! It was still fun to do though.
The second project was a rope tree, where we wrapped yarn around a Styrofoam cone and then added a string of lights around it too. I really enjoyed this project and finished it super early, which was great because I actually had to leave early that night! It was a fun project as well and looks great.
Bujo
I can’t believe how close to full my bujo is! This month, I worried I’d struggle to fill the pages, just like with October. But then I ended up running out of room for some of the spreads that came up. Ah well, but it has been fun to fill out. I dedicated pages to an online workshop I did, NaNoWriMo, and more. I can’t believe how close I am to filling out all the pages and December will be a busy bujo month for sure!
Entertainment
Books
As always, I’m listing all the books I’ve finished since the previous Lively post below with their star ratings. All thoughts on them are saved for future (or even past!) Mini Book Review posts but those will be linked below if so. I won’t include any books that I didn’t finish although I’ll be sure to add them into the review posts.
This month I read 4 books. Well, to be honest those 4 books were written at the end of October and I haven’t finished any in November (yet) but that did bring up the total for 2021 to 93 books read. My goal for 2021 is 100, so hopefully I can finish a few during my days off for Thanksgiving!
- The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees, 4.0
- Heiress Apparently by Diana Ma, 4.0
- The Lady and Her Monsters: A Tale of Dissections, Real-Life Dr. Frankensteins, and the Creation of Mary Shelley’s Masterpiece by Roseanne Montillo, 2.75
- State of Terror by Louise Penny and Hillary Rodham Clinton, 4.0
Movies
I watched one film this month, Disney Pixar’s Coco. I adore this movie and so I watched it for Day of the Dead. I used the excuse of wanting to use it to educate my dog, but really I wanted to watch it. I love it just as much as ever.
TV Shows
I finished The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix. I knew it would be different from The Haunting of Hill House, but I was surprised how different it was. Bly’s story was amazing to watch unfold and while some of the twists weren’t unexpected, I found that they were still very creative.
I also tried to catch up on The Great British Baking Show on Netflix as well. I really enjoyed watching the next few episodes of the show. I think I just need to watch the final two episodes and I did get spoiled for the last 3 finalists but I’m hoping to avoid spoilers on the winner!
The final show I watched, and the reason I haven’t caught up on GBBS is White Collar, which I’m watching on Hulu. I decided to cancel Hulu since my promotional price ended and now I’m rushing to finish the show before my subscription ends. At the time of writing this post I’m more than halfway through season 4, and trying to watch the rest of that, all of season 5, and then all of season 6 in the next 7 days. While the seasons are already on the shorter side of 16 episodes each, and season six is even shorter, I don’t know if I’ll make it! I am really enjoying the show though and it is very easy to binge watch with the compelling story lines that extend over each season. Each season also flawlessly transitions to the next and so it’s easy to keep watching. Hopefully I finish the series in time!
Music
I have to mention Red (Taylor’s Version) here. I haven’t listened to the whole album yet, mostly just the hits that I know already, but it is a great album and I loved the ten minute version of “All Too Well”. It’s such a powerful song!
YouTube
I haven’t been watching too much on YouTube due to trying to finish White Collar but I have been loving a lot of new (to me) podcasts that I recently learned about.
Also on YouTube was Growth Week, which I previously blogged about it. I really enjoy YouTube as a meeting space, although I know it doesn’t work for everyone. Overall, Growth Week was great and super interesting. Plus it was really motivating as well. I won’t go on about it since I did a whole post but it was a lot of fun to watch the sessions and learn from so many interesting people.
Video Games
I did an updated review of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so I won’t go on about that one either. I’ve been enjoying the new content but I do feel like I need a break from the game. It’s feeling a lot like, well, work so I need to take some time off of it soon. Plus, I have a lot of other stuff to get done!
Writing
I’ve completed NaNoWriMo! I did an update halfway through NaNo, but I did finish shortly after by reaching 50,000 words. I do think that editing for NaNo is not my strong suit. Actually, editing in general isn’t. I’ve mentioned multiple times that I’ve never actually made it to the editing stage, so maybe going for a major edit session wasn’t my best idea. Even so, it’s nice to finally get a chance to revisit my work and try to make it better.
Active Life
walk
Of course, I have tried to walk with Fox, my dog, as much as possible. He still isn’t a big fan of walks, but I can tell he gets bored if he doesn’t get a walk in so I make him go anyway. Except for this past week when he has been on quarantine. Why? Well, he got really annoyed at my dad and bit him, unfortunately. I had to report the bite to my county’s animal control and they told me to keep Fox at home for 10 days as a quarantine. Basically, he’s grounded! He is super restless now although I try to play with him and it really is a pity as the weather has been pretty good lately. But it was also good timing as he didn’t have training so he didn’t have to miss a session. Anyway, I’m going to chat more on this situation in a separate post during Blogmas, but we are getting special behavior training to try to deal with the issues.
ballet
I’ve really been enjoying my ballet class lately! I mean, I always do, but with World Ballet Day having occurred last month, it’s always really motivating and inspiring. My instructor recently brought up us doing the spring recital again, which I would love to do! Apparently the recital theme is picnic so we all had a lot of fun pretending to chose our costumes. We were all trying to decide on different insects, although our instructor hates insects. I think I ended up settling on a butterfly but really wanted to also be a firefly so the idea of on stage costume changes came up. I did miss a class though after Fox’s bite, since I just wasn’t feeling up for it. I did regret missing class after because I do really enjoy it, but I know I would have been super distracted and not into the class if I had attended. We’re off this week for Thanksgiving, but I hope not to miss another session!
So that’s what I’ve been up to! While it hasn’t been a varied month in terms of the number of activities and content I’ve been consuming, but I have been pretty productive with the activities I have focused on so I’m happy with that!
Thanks for reading!
