If We Were Having Coffee March 2021

Hello everyone! Let’s grab a coffee and have a chat to catch up, shall we?

I’ve continued to make my coffee at home, enjoying some Starbucks Columbian ground coffee! I always use the reusable k-cup to make a cup of coffee. I just find it less wasteful than the one time use k-cups.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, how I’ve kept up with yoga for two months now! I am loving the practice and I can’t start my day without it now. I do think I’ve gotten better, more flexible, and stronger, although I can’t do the crow’s pose to save my life! I’m super happy that I’ve kept up with it for so long though. I decided that for March I was going to do one of the previous 30 days of yoga challenges, “dedicate”, so hopefully I can keep up with it for this month too!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I finally get what people mean when they say they just listen to music! I used to not really get it, only using music as background noise while doing something else or listening while driving. But now that I don’t drive often, I have really missed music. And then with Taylor Swift’s folklore and Evermore albums coming out, I suddenly started to understand how relaxing and therapeutic it could be to just sit down and listen to music.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I really struggled filling in my bullet journal pages for February. When I start the month I have a set up where I make the first few spreads, the last spread, and specifically leave a few pages in the middle to fill in during the month. I ended up with a spread and a page at the end that I couldn’t fill! Well, eventually I did but it took awhile for me to decide what to do with that space. February was just so boring overall that I hope March will be better.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that even though I said February was boring, I had a great time watching Gilmore Girls. I can’t stop talking about that show! It’s literally changed my life and I know I’ve talked about it so much on my blog recently that I should probably stop going on and on about it. But I just can’t help it! It was such a cute little show and I’ve had to force myself to watch other stuff instead of just restarting the series.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I finally finished the show Madam Secretary. I didn’t realize the last season was so short so I just finished it the other day. I took a ton of breaks during watching it so it took me forever to finish it but now that I have, I miss it a lot! I really liked the characters and how it ended, and the story lines were so fun to watch unfold. I realize now our coffee chat is turing out to be mainly about old tv shows I’ve finally watched so I’ll switch topics now.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, how crazy it is that it’s March again because, in a way, it feels like it’s been March for an entire year! March 12th was the last day I was out in public without a mask, because I had gone to my early voting location for the primaries. I can’t believe it’s been almost a full year since then and honestly the only thing that is making it better is that my sister declared it is officially spring because my puppy niece did her first roll in the grass of the year. Yay for better weather! It is sad to think that there was an entire year of my life I lost but also I did enjoy the downtime too. I just hope it can go back to mostly normal soon.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, more about my book slump last month. I mentioned it a few times here and there, but I went a good two or three weeks without reading until I absolutely had to for my book club and for due dates. I was finally able to read a book for fun, without a looming due date within a week, two days ago! Thank goodness for that because I have had a few books out from the library for awhile now and I really do need to finish them.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, all about my struggle to find my puppy niece’s food! She has a very specific canned food that she eats and every time I’ve stopped by the store to get some there hasn’t been any. Right now, my puppy niece is sharing with her cousin (my sister’s roommate’s dog) but I was really hoping to get her more because she’s supposed to come for Camp Cuddles 2021. The guy at the store said that the brand in general was having issues with production of some of their foods but that Arya’s food wasn’t one of them, although I’m not sure if that’s accurate. I’ll just have to keep looking I guess!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that February ended up being the month when I’ve most embodied my goal of “live with intention”. It’s such a dreary and boring month, so I knew I needed something to counteract that, and I looked for stuff to do so. Between ballet, multiple books, movies, tv shows, and conversations with friends, I think that this really helped me make it through the month!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that my goal of Positivity sort of took a backseat in the first part of last month. I just needed to wallow I think! But in the second part of the month I was able to be more positive and hopeful, and I’m really hoping that’ll carry over into March.

That’s really all that’s on my mind lately. Honestly, as much as I complained about February, I think March is shaping up to be much better!

Thanks for reading!
