My November Bakes – So Many Cookies

Hello everyone! Today, I am sharing all my bakes for last month in November!

Out of my five bakes, three of them were cookies! I was super into cookies last month for some reason.

Also, as you can see, I’m doing Blogmas again this year! That means I’ll be blogging every day until Christmas. I’ve done Blogmas in 201620172018, and 2019 so I am happy to be participating again in 2020.

Polvorones Cookies

About the recipe

My sister made some Polvorones cookies, which are a Mexican recipe, and I decided to try them out too! I used pumpkin spice in them instead of cinnamon because I don’t know how to use up the pumpkin spice now. But I think I’ll save it again for next year. (Unless it goes bad, someone let me know.) I found the recipe on a site called “Hola Jalapeno” through Pinterest and I thought it was pretty good! The cookies are super easy to make, so it worked well.

The results

Here they are! I think I should have made them smaller as I found that one big cookie was generally too much. I also think this recipe used too much sugar so I want to try and play around with it to use less. But overall it was really good!

Snickerdoodle Cookies

About the recipe

I wanted to try making snickerdoodle cookies as that seemed like a season appropriate bake. I looked up the recipe on Pinterest and found one on a site called “High Heels and Grills”. It was pretty straightforward so I appreciated that.

The results

Here they are! I do think I should have flattened them more. Honestly, I hated how they tasted though! I don’t know why but I just really didn’t like them! My parents really enjoyed them though so they ate them and I gave some to my sister.

M&M Cookies

About the recipe

The all time favorite cookies! The M&M Cookie recipe is from “Kleinworth and Co”. It’s my go-to recipe and my sister requested more for when she dropped off her dog. Of course I had to make them!

They were delicious as always! I have to remember to double the recipe when sharing these though, because it never feels like there’s enough left over! (Also, I forgot to grab a photo of them… So here’s an old one! I’m pretty sure I’ve done this before too so double whoops!)

Brownies

About the recipe

After so many cookies, I was craving brownies! Plus I was PMSing like crazy and NEEDED chocolate. So I found a pin to this brownie recipe on “The Stay At Home Chef”. It was straightforward but there was NOT enough batter at all for the pan and it didn’t rise at all so there was barely any brownies.

The results

They tasted fine, but not the best brownies! Again, there wasn’t enough batter so the brownies were super thin. Due to that, they also ended up dry. The taste was good but they were so thin and dry that they weren’t super enjoyable and I will not try this recipe again!

Cornbread Muffins

About the recipe

For Thanksgiving, my contribution was cornbread muffins! I didn’t know whether to include this or not as I used the Krusteaz mix, a brand I was introduced to by Influencer (I was sent other stuff free from the brand to review). I was actually sent a voucher for a free mix so I redeemed it for this mix but I’ll be 100% honest with my review.

The results

They were good! I didn’t like that they were super crumbly but I think that that’s normal for cornbread? Either way, I really liked the taste and ate most of the muffins.

So those are my bakes! I haven’t been into a big baking mood lately, which is strange as it’s Christmas season so I feel like I should be??? I’ll try to make more stuff in the next few weeks to make up for it and have plenty more to share for my next bakes post!

Thanks for reading!
