Hello everyone! Today, let’s grab a coffee and have a nice chat for July!

I think I’ll have just water today actually. I have been slacking in my water intake! To the point that I’m getting headaches and everything. I’m making the conscious effort to fix that!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, about my garden update! The tomatoes are growing quite nicely, so hopefully we’ll have them soon. The lettuce is growing so fast! We get about one good harvest a week right now with three plants so I think next year we’ll need to put more lettuce down. The peppers are all growing quite nicely too, which is exciting. As for the peaches, one of the threes keeps dropping a lot of them unfortunately, so we’re hoping that enough will hold on to be able to enjoy. The branches also keep breaking because the peaches are getting quite heavy, so my dad has started tying up the branches in an effort to add support to them. Fingers crossed that works! Otherwise, we have a surprise raspberry plant growing! We didn’t plant that and have no idea where it came from, but it’s growing so we’ve welcomed it with open arms. As for everything else, they’re growing slowly and we’re hopeful they’ll continue that!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, Frida the Fiddle Leaf Fig is doing great! This plant doesn’t need a lot of water so I have a little spray bottle that I use to mist the tree. The tree did lose two leaves though so I did water it a bit, hopefully that’s what it needed!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I got another plant! I’ll do a whole post on Glinda, the Calathea later, but I did post a picture of her on my insta. I think she’s beautiful! Apparently Calatheas are also quite finicky so hopefully I can get a good routine with this one soon.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I requested new diplomas! Why? Well, my school changed names! I attended Elmhurst College twice. The first time from 2009-2013 for my undergrad degree and then again from 2017-2019 for my graduate degree. This month, the school changed their name to Elmhurst University and we were able to request new diplomas with the new name for free. I was super surprised as I figured that they might not offer that or that they would offer it for an additional fee but nope, it’s free! I had actually just bought a new frame for my MBA because I had only had one diploma frame and my dad requested I buy two more for the new versions. I think having them all up is a bit crazy but so far everyone who has weighed in their opinions (at my request) say they don’t see a problem with that so I guess I’m going back to the store soon to buy two more frames!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I’m a virtual ballet student! My fitness center has decided to offer adult ballet for a shorter summer session after canceling the spring and the full summer class due to state restrictions. Since it’s less classes and it’s over Zoom, it’s a little cheaper than usual. I’d rather have the in-person classes, even if it costs more, but I totally understand that it’s for everyone’s safety. At this point, I’ll take whatever form of ballet class that I can get!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, how restrictions are really loosening up in Illinois! More and more places are opening, I see more people out and about, and while that’s great it’s also slightly concerning. There are so many people walking around without masks and not avoiding each other which is annoying. I’m glad we’re able to go out more and that people are enjoying themselves, don’t get me wrong, but I just wish people would still be respectful and mindful in addition to being excited that we can all go out again.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I’m puppy sitting this week! My sister needed a dog sitter so she asked me if I wanted to puppy sit her dog, to which I said ABSOLUTELY. I decided that it was going to be as if Arya is at camp so she’s going to write my sister (her mommy) a little camp diary so that when my sister gets her back, she can read all about Arya’s adventures! Even though I tell her everything every day anyway LOL. I also created a whole camp agenda for every day, which my sister loved!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that my Live with Intention goal is going great! For the most part, my intentions lately are to either 1) keep myself entertained and 2) to be productive. Since I’m still not working then I just want to make sure that I’m not sitting there mindlessly.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, my resolution of Don’t be Lazy, is also going well! Granted, there isn’t a lot to do, but overall I’m productive when I need to be and then I can relax after, which is perfect!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that positivity has been pretty easy right now! It’s summer, things are opening up a bit, and I have a dog for a week! This are great!
That’s all for this month! Let me know what you’ve been up to and thank you so much for joining me today.
Thanks for reading!

This was such a lovely post; what a great format! I’m so jealous of all your produce – I’d love to have a good garden tomato right now.

Thank you so much! I wish I could take credit for the format but I got it off a lot of other similar type posts a few years ago when it was more popular. It really works for me though so I’ve kept up with it. And I’m so excited for the tomatoes to really come in. They’re getting so big but still super green!

Yay for all the success with your plants! That’s good you’re able to request updated certificates at no cost 🙂 ballet classes over Zoom sound interesting, also must be good being able to hide the camera if you’re shy 😛 have fun puppy sitting, what sort of dog does your sister have?

Thank you so much! And I’m so excited to see the new diplomas, and super thrilled they were no additional cost! (Considering how much the tuition was then it really should be free after all LOL.) Haha the Zoom ballet classes are fun so far! It’s actually pretty cool because we’ve had longer classes. They’re supposed to be 50mins I think but we’ve done more like 1 hour and 10 minutes usually. Puppy sitting was a blast! The dog is a chihuahua and she was the sweetest baby ever! I think I’ll do a blog post about all the fun we had. 🙂
