When I started planning BirthMay I didn’t expect so many baking/cooking posts but that’s what the Q is doing to everyone I think! Also, I don’t know if this counts exactly as “cooking” because there’s not much to do besides put it together and stick it in the oven but here we go!

In case you’re new, BirthMay is my annual birthday celebration where I blog every day for the month of May. This is the fourth annual BirthMay and no matter how many BirthMays you’ve been here for, thank you for your support!

Cooking Homemade Pizza

So I was really craving pizza, but didn’t want to order from anywhere or get a frozen one. I decided, I can do it myself! So I went to the store, picked up a few things, and got read to enjoy some pizza. My mother did not understand my vision for the pizzas at all but eventually she said it was good, so yay!

I grabbed some thin crust, whole wheat crust. I don’t recall the brand but it was in a pack of 3. I also picked a jar of pizza sauce. I didn’t get anything fancy for the sauce, just picked one of the generic store brand ones I think. Then I grabbed some mozzarella cheese. I wanted to get the block kind that I could just pull apart and leave on the pizza in chunks. That’s where my mom and I had a bit of a discussion on what cheese was “correct” because she wanted me to get shredded cheese and kept saying I would have problems shredding it and I kept saying I didn’t want shredded. Eventually we got the cheese I wanted so point for me! I didn’t grab basil because we had spinach and so I figured I might as well use what we already have, but I do want to get a basil plant at some point. Oh, I also used extra virgin olive oil too, which we had already. Here’s the result!

I think it turned out pretty well and tasted yummy! I did realize after that I could have added oregano to it to make it even more fancy so many next time I’ll do that. And hopefully I’ll have a happy little basil plant to use too.

So, what do you think about the pizza that I made? Wish you could try it!

Thanks for reading!
