Hello everyone! Welcome to BirthMay 2020! Today I’m sharing a ton of mini reviews on various beauty products that I’ve tried.

Not all of these products are new or even new to me. My only requirement for these items was that I wanted to review items that I hadn’t already reviewed in their own posts on my blog already. I’m sure I’ve already talked about a ton of these products but I don’t think I’ve actually reviewed them yet so here we go!
In case you’re new, BirthMay is my annual birthday celebration where I blog every day for the month of May. This is the fourth annual BirthMay and no matter how many BirthMays you’ve been here for, thank you for your support!

Beauty Reviews
Make Up
Nudestix tinted cover foundation
I received this foundation free for review purposes from Influenster in shade Nude 3. It’s a light-medium buildable foundation and I did like the product. I think it’s a tad heavier than I would prefer but it’s a great foundation for days out (not that there’s many of those right now) and for days where you just want some more coverage. It’s pretty long lasting too and even though it’s not matte I didn’t have a problem with it getting too shiny or anything. Plus it’s not drying or anything so it’s really comfortable to wear!
Maxmus colour mascara with grape oil
I got this mascara in Mexico from a wholesale make up shop. I picked up this one because it’s supposed to make lashes look longer and claims to make it look like you have fake eyelashes on. Unfortunately, I don’t think it does that at all. Honestly, when I wore this mascara I couldn’t even tell I had put on mascara. If I tried to put more on it looked clumpy honestly. I don’t think that this is a good product at all and wouldn’t recommend picking it up.
OPI Nail Lacquer in Chicago Champagne Toast
I picked up this nail color because it looked so pretty and also had the name Chicago! I love the color and the product itself is great but for me personally, I need to stop buying nail polish. I can’t seem to wear it for more than two hours before it chips! I really don’t think the polish is the issue here, I think it’s just my nails and I must be really clumsy with grabbing stuff or something, because the formula seems great. I just can’t keep polish looking neat for some reason!
Jeffree star velour Liquid Lipstick in Family jewels
This was my first Jeffree Star item actually! I really love the color of the lipstick and the formula is lovely. I know the formula is supposed to be transfer proof but I actually found that there was a drying period where it would get on my teeth before it did dry down. But once it does it really doesn’t budge and it lasts all day! Plus it’s super comfortable to wear too.
Almay Straight Up Medium smart Shade with SPF 20
This product is more like a tinted moisturizer except it goes on white and then changes color as you blend. It’s pretty cool! I love that it has SPF and super light weight too, although it can be a bit of a pain to sit there blending until all the white is gone. However, it’s changes color pretty quickly and not greasy at all so I do really enjoy this product and do plan to continue to keep it in my routine for a long time.
VDL Lumilayer Primer
I believe this is a k-beauty item but I’m not 100% sure! I got this free for review purposes on Influenster. Personally, I don’t really like primer. I feel like a lot of times it’s so heavy and doesn’t really do anything for me. This one was a bit too creamy and I didn’t really think it helped keep product on due to that reason. I only have a sample size so I likely will use it up just to use it.
Jabibe Lip Gloss in Fearless
I’ve talked about this lip gloss before but I don’t think I’ve done a review for it really. I bought this lip gloss in Mexico and I love it! It’s similar to the jeffree Star formula, but transfers a bit more and does need to be retouched. Even so, the color is beautiful and the formula is comfortable to wear too.
Skin Care
L’Oreal Paris Ideal Clean Foaming Gel Cleanser
I have really enjoyed this cleanser as it’s just fun to use! It does get bubbly and feels so refreshing to take off make up at the end of the day. It’s also quite gentle even for being an “all” skin types cleanser. It does have a bit of a scent, which I think a lot of people tend to avoid for skin care but it really isn’t over powering at all. I do enjoy using it!
Generation clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask
I got this mask from a FabFitFun box (I’ve since cancelled my subscription) and it’s one of my favorite products that I’ve gotten! The mask dries quickly and feels great on the skin, plus leaves the skin feeling so refreshed! It’s hard to tell if it does brighten it or not but I do know I love using it and it’s such a fun product to use.
Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cream
I got this product from Influenster free for review purposes. I do like this cream for winter, as it’s very thick and heavy for a ton of moisture but it does take a bit of time to absorb into the skin. It’s likely because it is so thick but I find it annoying to have to wait for it to absorb. It is great for when your skin feels extra dry though. I don’t find myself reaching for it unless my skin does feel really dry and tight.
Philosophy Nature in a Jar Moisturizer and Cream to Water Lotion
These two products were given to me free for review purposes through Influenster as well. I really enjoyed both of these products. The moisturizer is very hydrating but without being super heavy. It is still a thicker product so it does take time to absorb but it isn’t super heavy like the Belif one is. It does have a slight fragrance so keep that in mind if you don’t like scented items. The body lotion that goes with it is great. I don’t like lotions because they tend to feel really greasy to me but this one goes on as a cream but feels like water when you apply it. It does absorb a bit more slowly but it is super hydrating and worth the short wait.
Those are the mini product reviews! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and, if so, what did you think of them? Also, do you like this format? If so, I might do more mini reviews in the future!
Thanks for reading!

The Nudestix foundation sounds good! That OPI polish is so pretty! Have you tried applying a base coat underneath first to see if that makes a difference?

I have tried a base coat and a top coat, and also reapplying the top coat every 2-3 days but unfortunately no 😦 It might not chip within a couple hours, but will still chip by the end of the day or early the next day anyway. I’m not sure why the polish just doesn’t want to stick!

I know! I think the only reasonable explanation is honestly is that I am terrible at being a girl LOL. At least that’s what I say when I decide to treat myself to a nice manicure every now and then (well, except not right now, mostly then).
