Hello everyone! Today, let’s grab a coffee and have a chat as we start Blogmas!

This month I’m having a canela tea, or cinnamon, that my mom makes. It’s delicious!
Also, as you can see, I’m doing Blogmas again this year! That means I’ll be blogging every day until Christmas. I’ve done Blogmas in 2016, 2017, and 2018 as well so I am happy to be participating again in 2019. Here’s the first post of Blogmas!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I really enjoyed watching The Great British Baking Show last month and now I really just want to make fancy cakes. I didn’t know what half of the things they were being tasked to make were, to be honest, but it all looked great!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, how much I miss ballet! My fall class ended this past month and I do miss it. The park district added two 8 week sessions in the spring so I might sign up for them although I’m going to look at how many I’ll have to miss as I have a few trips planned already!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I took almost a month off of posting to Instagram and honestly that was nice. I spent a lot less time on the app than normal because of that too! Unfortunately, my engagement is way down now but honestly, it was worth it! On the flip side, I deleted the Facebook app long ago on my phone but then I logged in on my browser on my phone so I feel like that defeats the purpose.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that speaking of logging into Facebook, I actually logged in to look for a picture for that 2009 vs 2019 challenge. I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to posting it on Instagram but I was thinking of doing it for a post maybe? I don’t have a ton of photos from 2009 though. Anyway, I sent one of the photos to a friend who said that I look the same as 2009 so maybe just look at my current pictures, imagine me with shorter hair, and you basically have my 2009 picture! LOLS.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I redecorated my bathroom recently and wow, I feel so fancy! I definitely spent both more and less that I thought simultaneously if that makes any sense at all and it only took about three trips to stores, one online order, and about a month to finish up. It was pretty spontaneous but I’m super happy with how it turned out! I think I want to redecorate my bedroom next but not for awhile because that I don’t quite know what I want to do yet. But it should be fun to spend more time on Pinterest again!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I’m lowkey shopping for a new car. My current car is a 2010 Toyota Corolla named Bruce (after Bruce Wayne aka Batman) and I love him plenty but I feel like I need to get a newer car soon. My top choice right now is a Toyota Rav4 because I want an SUV. When I brought this up to my coworkers they all started asking why I want an SUV so I said just in case I need more room or want to go up into mountains and then they went all “WhY wOuLd YOU eVeR gO iNtO tHe MoUnTaInS????” and I was all like “WOW RUDE”. Like, what if I wanted to? Then the Tesla Cybertruck was revealed and I showed my dad and mom and they both went wtf so as tempting as it is, the Rav4 is still my top choice. Anyway, now I’m also saving for a car downpayment because I want to pay at least half right away and then finance the other half but I’m not in a hurry since my car still runs very well, it’s just getting older and I know I’ll have to start replacing a lot of parts. Best to be proactive about it, right?
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that we did finally get a new washer that worked. I think I mentioned at some point that the washer was broken but I can’t remember if I updated on it. My parents did buy a new washer and a matching dryer as that one was quite old too so they were worried that it would break soon as well and I guess you get a discount if you buy them together? I can’t remember if that’s true or if I just made it up but they bought new ones and then the new washer didn’t work! So they had to wait for another to be delivered. In total we waited about a month before we had a working washer again and we all did so much laundry in the days that followed. I’m glad that was finally resolved!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I’m really excited to be doing Blogmas again this year! This is the third year I’m doing Blogmas so you’d think I’d be better at pre-writing my posts but I’m only about a week ahead. Yikes! I’ll be scrambling to get everything else done now but I’m excited to read what everyone else posts. Happy Blogmas to everyone participating this year!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that in terms of my balance goal, I’m continuing to do well! It really helps that I have more free time to be able to dedicate to my hobbies. I’ve learned that if I am not trying something new or different frequently then I just get in a slump and it’s terrible. Something new/different could be trying baking something I haven’t done before, starting a new book, or just changing decor out.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that for positivity, well I’m doing pretty well on that too! I recently got some news that is totally karma getting someone back for me and I think while I’m not suppose to acknowledge that it’s karma I can’t help it. Honestly, I’m just focusing on myself and what I’m doing and everyone else can just do their own thing too. I’m not worried about it!
And that’s what I’d tell you if we were having coffee! (Or tea, I suppose.) Let me know what you’d tell me if we were having coffee/tea.
Thanks for reading!
Pamela

I’m also looking for a new car! Mine’s a 2008 and it’s going to start needing costly repairs soon. March/April is my target for a newer one. Good luck with saving 🙂

Haha I know some people who changed it to tea if they don’t enjoy coffee or just named it “catch up with me” or something! I do drink coffee so when I got this idea from others who did it I just kept the name though but I don’t always pick a coffee! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!

The Great British Bake Off is soooo addictive! I don’t bake myself but I can easily go through a season, haha. If you like baking, I started watching Nailed It on Netflix and it’s not so much of a baking competition per se, it’s just more entertainment and laughing at “the best of amateur bakers”.
I ended up deleting FB fully (but kept the messenger app) and it’s sooooo refreshing! I don’t miss it at all. I do have Instagram still but I’m looking to do a cleanse on it as well. I don’t go on it as much anymore since it’s filled with ads nowadays.
Ooo, a new car is always exciting! I drive a Honda CRV and the room is amazing, especially for camping or road trips. Even if you don’t go out in the wild, it’s nice to have the room just in case 🙂

Haha I have seen I think one or two seasons of Nailed It before and it’s hilarious! I really love the judges messing with the bakers. Honestly, I feel like those bakers quite a bit of the time!
I don’t miss the FB app either! I have a friend who will keep me updated on the stuff I miss for work friends which is helpful, like when a coworker’s young son had surgery she updated me to let me know he was recovering well as she knew I hadn’t seen the post and would be wondering about the kiddo. And the ads are the most annoying! I think because it’s the holiday season they’ve upped the number of them on Instagram because I feel like every 3-4 posts is an ad now when it used to be every 20.
I agree, it’s nice to have the room! Even just shopping sometimes, if I want to get some sort of furniture or something larger then I struggle. I like my little car but I would love to have more room for sure!

Haha girl do not worry about pre-writing posts, I have been finishing mine either the day off or the day before. SO bad. I hope you are having an amazing weekend! ❤

Thank you!!!! And hahaha, yes, I always name my cars even if some people think it’s crazy. But I just feel like I’m in my car so much that it needs a name! And omg, I’ve had a few of those too! Especially when I have something planned and then it doesn’t work out so I have to quickly change it up. Whoops! You’re doing great though since I love all your posts!!!

I wish I could take credit for this format but I got it from blogger friends who saw it and used it themselves first! I love sharing updates this way though and lots of people like to read it this way so I’m glad you enjoyed it too!

Ooo, are you going to show us your new bathroom? I’d love to see it! & HEY, honestly, you never know when you will need to go through the mountains or maybe you want to take a freakin’ road trip! SUVs are the way to go. We currently have one but, it’s quite old, too… I really should save for a half down payment on a new car like you, you are my inspiration lol. I just altogether need to be more proactive in 2020, that should be MY word for the year. 😛 As a strong believer in karma, I can’t believe I never knew that you weren’t supposed to acknowledge when it happens! Oops!
I’m so excited to read your Blogmas posts again this year, Pamela!
P.S. I am actually drinking a hot cup of tea right now so this post came at the perfect time! ❤
