My Winter 2019 FabFitFun Box

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share my Winter 2019 FabFitFun box with you!

Now, I know I haven’t really enjoyed my previous few boxes but I have to say, the Winter box was the most surprising! Usually it’s my least favorite as it’s just so boring but this time I really enjoyed it! I need to make a decision if I’m going to keep it or not so we’ll see!

Also I meant to include this as part of Blogmas but the box came so early and I couldn’t wait to share so here it is! (Please leave suggestions for a new Blogmas post in the comments because I’m one short. Kidding! Kinda…)

The Box: Theme & Charity

This season’s box was designed by Geraldine Sy, and she made a lovely winter landscape on the box. I really like it! For the charity this month, FFF picked the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, after having raised $20,206 for City of Hope from last season.

The Items

Per usual, I’ll start with the customizations all members can make, then the select member customizations, then the items everyone gets. I will say, I’m pretty sure they changed it this time so that select members (those who pay a year at a time) still get early access to everything but their access ended once the seasonal members got their turn. It used to remain open the entire time. I was really surprised by this and I really like it actually! I think it is meant to help them get boxes out faster as that has been a big complaint for how long the boxes take to ship out and then to actually make it to the person who bought it. Plus, annual members are sold on the fact that their boxes will ship first but I always see annual members on the forums stating that the seasonal members are getting their boxes while they’re still waiting so that’s nice they can better separate it out. Unfortunately, that does mean the seasonal members only get to pick form items left over after the annual members make their selections so there are pros and cons to this still. I just think that it does make sense to prioritize shipping for the annual members when that is what they were promised from the start.

Also, I did skip out on the add-ons this time! With the holidays coming up I’ve been buying so much already so I just didn’t want to add to what I’ve been buying unless I really liked something and nothing really caught my eye. Maybe next time!

All Member Customizations

For the first customization, I picked the Rebecca Minkoff Marbled Beanie and Arm Warmer set. I thought the beanie looked so cute and I love arm warmers so it seemed perfect! Looking back, beanies don’t really look cute on me personally though so I’m a little sad I didn’t go for the blanket instead but I just have so many blankets already! The other options were the aforementioned blanket, moisturizer, shampoo & conditioner set, and a candle. The set I picked retail for $70.

For the second customization, I picked the PJ Salvage Faux Fur Trim Cable Slippers S/M. I actually had almost bought new slippers in Target the other day and only passed on them because the store only had the larger size and I have small feet so they weren’t going to fit me well. This option was perfect for me! The other options included an eyelash conditioner, the same slippers but in M/L, a clay mask, and a shower speaker. The slippers retail for $45.

For the third customization, the final one for all members, I picked the Karuna Face For All Face & Eye Mask Set. I wasn’t thrilled about this option but I wasn’t into the others really either so I figured this would be a good gift or just something I can keep for myself. I’ve realized I’m not a huge fan of sheet masks but I can make them work! Plus the box came kind of beat up so I think the gift idea is off the table. The other options included fake lashes, a liquid glow primer, and a bracelet. The set retails for $42.

Select Member Customizations

So, if you pay for the year at once you are upgraded to “select” member. Since that’s what I do to be able to pick more items, I got another three selections. If you’re a seasonal member you still get one of the choices for each category but it’s random.

The first one of these I picked the Beauty Bakerie Proof Is In The Puddin’ Palette. I was a little surprised when I went back to check what I picked as I really don’t need another palette. However, the other options had been a lotion, crossbody bag, and planner, all of which I also don’t need. I think I mostly picked this one because it is so cute but also because if I don’t end up wanting to keep it then I can gift it. I’m honestly torn though because the colors are beautiful, it’s just that I don’t need another eyeshadow palette! It does retail for $38.

The last customization I made was for the AHAVA Salt Bag. I’ve wanted to try this for so long! The other options were coffee body scrub and a make up brush cleanser. The other options also sounded great but the salt bag won in the end. This retails for $16.

New Surprise Item

So the sixth customization this time around was automatically set for everyone to “surprise me”. Everyone was getting an item from a mix of items in their box, probably to add variety to them. I was really excited about that as it was always hard to avoid spoilers but now I had no choice! I have been seeing more variety in the boxes since they expanded the options you could pick from. I ended up with the Cuccio Somatology Calm + Clean Epsom Salt Hand and Body Wash which retails for $39.95. The other option was a hand mask glove set. I’m super happy with the hand/body wash!

All Member Items

The last two items are ones that everyone gets. First is the Drybar Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler, which retails for $23. Next is the MakeUp Eraser Makeup Eraser – Original Pink, which retails for $20. I am excited to try the Drybar item although I always forget to use the detanglers I already have so hopefully I can remember and use them up quickly to move onto this one. The eraser is cool too although I just bought reusable make up remover cloths so I don’t really “need” it.

In total my box came out to $293.95 out of a range of $211 to $345.99. Not too bad I think! I really like a lot of the items in the box so this one was well worth it for me!

Let me know what you picked for your box if you got a winter box too!

Thanks for reading!

    • I really wish I’d gotten the blanket too! I told myself I have enough blankets but then I saw others saying such good things about it that I regretted not adding it in. I love the slippers though! And I agree, this box was a lot better than the fall box, especially since it made sense for the season too!

    • The slippers are soooo cozy! And I can’t wait to try the makeup eraser. I’m still trying to decide if I want to use the palette or save it to gift to a cousin or something. I haven’t ever tried that brand before and hear good things but I have so many palettes that I’m just not sure!

      • I know how you feel!! I always want to try everything I get in a sub box but, sometimes, I know I’m only going to use it just that once. It’s so hard to decide what to keep or giveaway lol.

      • Honestly my recommendation is just giveaway because otherwise you’ll become a hoarder like me LOL. I’ll even have multiples from when I got those Sephora sample boxes and I haven’t tried any but somehow still have all the samples?? LOL clearly I need to declutter.

      • I know! I have so many things I don’t want to use up but I opened it so I can’t give it away. Last year I gave a ton of unopened stuff away to my cousins in Mexico and this year I don’t have much because I didn’t really have those subscriptions anymore. For open stuff though, I’m struggling too!
