Hello everyone! Today, let’s grab a coffee and catch up, shall we?

Today I am having a nice hot chai latte, my favorite! I haven’t been getting them that much lately so whenever I do go to Starbucks it’s a great treat for me now! So grab your favorite drink and let’s chat!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that Pokemon have finally started spawning around my house and it’s the best thing ever! It used to be impossible for me to catch a Pokemon without leaving my house but they’ve finally started appearing next door or across the street, which is amazing. One of my project managers at work started playing because we had a Pokemon Go event she was working on. She decided that if she started playing the game then the event would go perfectly and it did! She’s definitely onto something. I offered already to sign her cast for when she starts working on a BMX event though…
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I signed up for my ballet class again! The park district where I normally take the summer class added a fall class for October and November so that’s what I’ll be up to again! I’m super excited to keep up with ballet again as I really do love it.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I finally get to work from home for a few days a week again! I had to get a new manager at work and this one believes everyone should be able to work from home a few days regardless of their parental status, unlike the last one… I’m now working from home two days a week which is amazing for the whole work/life balance thing! Personally, I would prefer to work from home all the time but ah well, maybe someday. In the mean time, I do know I tend to be more focused and not get up as much when I’m at home so I do want to do that more as it’s nice to have little breaks during the day.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that although in my last post I wrote that I was upset at not having another trip planned, I’m actually okay with it right now. I listened to a podcast recently where someone said that they wanted to focus on enjoying the present and not be chasing the feeling of “looking forward” to something. That really resonated with me and I’m going to work on that now!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I’ve been working hard on my Duolingo app! I keep forgetting to mention it in my Life post along with my hobbies but I am studying French every day with Duolingo right now. I’ll occasionally try a few Spanish lessons but those bore me since I’m a native Spanish speaker. French is pretty easy for me as I did take some in high school and college, and it’s somewhat similar to Spanish in certain ways, but now we’re getting to words that I am not as familiar with so that’s pretty cool! I am really terrible at speaking it though and horrible at understanding it when it’s spoken so I think I’m going to keep up with my lessons and maybe try to find a French speaking podcast or YouTube channel to try to work on that. Any suggestions?
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, I put up my decor for fall/Halloween/Dia de los Muertos recently and it’s really put me in the autumn spirit! The weather has also shifted and it’s been raining a ton though, so there’s been a lot of flooding in my area which is a bit of a bummer when the commute to/from work gets rougher but otherwise it’s been pretty good! Except for some slight allergies.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I also signed up for a class on how to sew an apron at my library for this month! I mostly did it to learn to read patterns and such rather than the apron but I’m still excited! I am hoping to ask how much fabric is needed for the apron so I can go buy some rather than use what they’ll have but maybe for the first one I should just use what is provided? I’m not quite sure!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that I’ve been getting more and more excited about autumn! Besides the decor, I also have started burning candles again, which is so much fun. I will likely switch out my clothing soon as the days are getting consistently cooler, however we are still getting some 80 degree days so I might wait a bit longer!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, that in term of my yearly goal, balance, I’m doing fairly well. I think I’m leaning more towards the “take it easy” side of things a bit right now but that’s pretty much what I need. Otherwise, I do think I could do with a bit more “focus”, which was my yearly goal last year instead.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you, positivity continues to be a challenge. I do feel really stuck right now but I’m trying to take it one day at a time and focus on what I can do to get to the next step I need to take. I do feel like I’m getting closer to my goal!
And that’s what I would tell you if we were having coffee! Let me know what you would tell me if we were having coffee, I’d love to know!
Thanks for reading!

Ballet and sewing?!? Those sound like such fun things to look forward to! An apron is the perfect project to start with! I have a bunch of sewing projects I would love to get started on… maybe that will be something I plan on getting done this winter!!

Haha so far they’re really great! Ballet is proving to be more fitness focused and technique heavy this time around with the new teacher so that’s really cool to get something slightly different. And I’m glad they did pick an apron as I agree, it is a great one to start with. I am really tempted to buy a sewing machine so I can actually use my new skills! I could make soooooo many pillow cases haha!

Aw yay for the fall ballet class! & I’m so happy for you being able to work at home, I know that’s what you’ve always wanted. 🙂 I took 3 yrs of French in HS, too, but I don’t remember a thing LOL. Listening activities were always the hardest for me! I hope you can find a good YouTube channel or podcast you like to help you! & oh my gosh, how fun that you’ll be sewing an apron! I would totally just use the library’s fabric! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out. 😄 Stay positive, Pamela!! ♡ I enjoyed having this coffee chat with you!!

Thank you Hunida! (Sorry, late in responding AGAIN! I have to get better at this!!!) I am so happy to be able to work from home more, and I really hope my next job is fully from home because it’s just so much better for me. I did find a podcast called Coffee Break French that I’ve been trying out. It’s like 15mins at a time so it’s super easy to listen to!!! And thank you for commenting!!!!
