My September Life

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing how my September went!

I can hardly believe we’re already in autumn! This year is just flying by!

Lively

I have started running as well as walking this month! Usually I’d go out and walk about 5 times a week but I’ve started to switch out 2-3 of those for a run. I do enjoy it but since winter is slowly approaching then I doubt it’ll last much longer. Still, it is a great workout!

For books I am finally half way through my challenge! I’ve read 10 books out of my goal of 20. I really do need to step it up. I got through two books I was sent for review purposes so that really helped me but I’m still 4 behind. I did add Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings: Hungry for More cookbook to my “read”. I also added Fixing the Fates by Diane Dewey and Finding the Wild Inside: Exploring Our Inner Landscape Through the Arts, Dreams and Intuition by Marilyn Kay Hagar. I reviewed those last two in a previous post as they were provided to me free for review purposes!

For video games I’ve played Hogwarts Mystery some more. Quidditch was added in which is slightly annoying because I had no intention of participating. Even though it’s a side quest, it’s required in order to get access to the new friends. Otherwise Ava Samwise Quagmire is working on getting a try out for the team, she maxed out her friendship with Talbott, and continued to keep up with the story line which is moving slower than ever. I’ve also finished playing Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Life is Strange: Farewell. I really enjoyed them both and I am planning to do a review on the three LiS games I’ve played. Otherwise I’m also still enjoying Far Cry 5. I’m almost through the first section, John Seed’s section, although there’s still a lot of smaller tasks to accomplish.

For DIY nights we had two more projects. One was glue art where we put glue onto a canvas with a pre-printed design and then painted it with watercolor paints and watercolor markers. It was a lot of fun! The other was string art, so I created a star and made it pink! Very on brand I think!

In terms of TV and movies, I did finish season one of Designated Survivor finally. I hardly ever watch Netflix, and it’s a great thing that my dad watches so much of it so I don’t feel like I’m paying for nothing! I am into season two of the show now, and I am still really enjoying it.

Oh! And I’ve been practicing guitar more regularly this month as well, although not as much as I would really like. Why? I really don’t want to cut my nails! The length makes it hard to really get the strings I need but I love long nails so that’s a new issue I have.

Favorites

I’ve still loved the Lover album by Taylor Swift, which I did do a review of. I’ve really come to love the song “London Boy” recently. I’ve also really enjoyed Lizzo, who I saw on an NPR Tiny Desk Concert video on YouTube and she not only raps but PLAYS FLUTE TOO???? She seems really cool to say the least.

my september 2019 favorites

I’ve really enjoyed some skin care items. Specifically the Dr. Brandt Hydro Biotic sleeping mask as well as the Generation Clay Brightening Purple Clay Mask. The sleeping mask is so hydrating and cooling that I love putting this on. The clay mask is really fun to use as it’s purple and smells amazing. I love them both!

I went through some of my older lipsticks and found the Milani Lipstick in 42 Rose Femme that I love! It’s a darker rose pink color and and I love it for the season.

Another random favorite is my blue light glasses as I really do think they help a ton against headaches when I’m on computers all day. I didn’t use to think I got headaches but now that I’m used to them I do notice a slight headache when I don’t wear them as they really reduce eye strain.

Life

It’s been a very quiet month and after NYC last month it feels disappointing but this is also nice to just relax. I did do a ton at home though! I reorganized and started to clear out a lot of stuff or just put away stuff I don’t need out. I only have small boxes but that’s better to be able to carry stuff anyway and I do need to find a place to donate them to. Normally I just clear out clothing but this is like knick-knacks that I don’t need. I might hold onto them until I switch my summer clothing out as I always find stuff I don’t want to save when I do that so I have a lot at once.

Oh something weird that happened this month is that I discovered that I might have allergies?? Over Labor Day weekend I started to feel under the weather so I thought I was getting a cold but I didn’t actually get one. When I got to work and started describing it to a coworker she said it sounded more like allergies. Since then I do get allergy symptoms but I can’t find any particular cause and it’s not bad enough that I’ve tried allergy medicine but it is quite annoying since I work outside with my dad quite a bit!

So that’s my September life! Let me know what you’ve been up to this month. I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading!

    • Haha yes! I seem to be fine now that it’s cooled off but yikes, it was brutal facing allergies all of a sudden. I had zero coping skills since I was totally caught off guard! Glad you had a great September and I hope you have an even more amazing October! 🙂

  1. Oh! I love the star string art, it is totally on brand for you & the colors you chose are so pretty. I’ve never heard of glue art before though, how fun!

Having long nails is tough, even typing too much makes them sore but I refuse to cut them. Short nails just aren’t my thing so I totally understand your dilemma lol.

You should try Breathe-X for your allergies if they do continue to get worse. I just started getting them a couple years ago, too!

♡♡♡ have a wonderful October, Pamela!

    • I had to redo the string art star about four times before I was happy with it so I’m glad you liked it!!! I hadn’t heard of glue art either but it was pretty fun and I got to use a heat gun for the first time (like a glue gun but with hot air, so like a hair dryer but hotter?).

I really dislike short nails, I’m not going to lie. I did have to cut them all because one broke though but even then my “short” is still fairly long LOL.

I haven’t had strong allergy symptoms anymore thank goodness but if the children’s allergy meds I have for next time doesn’t work I’ll try that! I’m very much a “no medicine” kind of person, not even ibuprofen for headaches or cramps, so I didn’t take it at all yet. I do get flu shots every year though so I’m not sure where I draw the line on allergy meds yet LOL.

Hope your October is amazing so far! 🙂

      • Oh my, I have never heard of a heat gun but it does sound fun to use lol. I’m glad we’re the same about the short nails… they just don’t look good on girls to me, to be honest, lol. I hate when one breaks & they need to be trimmed down.

I try my best not to take medicine, too ESPECIALLY during my period but I am often weak lol. The Breathe-X is like this plant-based vitamin though, it’s better than medicine. 🙂

        Thank you, yours too!! ❤
