Hello everyone! For today’s BirthMay post I’m sharing a little desk tour!
This is my third annual BirthMay! What is BirthMay, you ask? Well I blog every day in May because it’s my birth month! I started BirthMay in 2017 and did it again in 2018 so I knew I had to do it again this year.
Now, I had to photograph my desk from a weird angle because I recently got rid of a bookshelf and I have piles of stuff in front of my desk that needs to be moved out of my office so I didn’t want to show too much of that. Whoops! Even so, you get the point in this photo!
As you can see, my desk is a glass desk with metal holding it all together. In the middle of the desk is my old MacBook Pro which is still going strong! I also have an old USB Apple keyboard in the keyboard area below it as well as an Apple Bluetooth mouse hidden behind that pink Starbucks cup that currently has water.
I have two of those marble/wood coasters on my desk, one for water and one for tea if I make some. I got those as part of a set of four from Pier 1 a few years ago and the others are around my office and bedroom. In the corner you can’t see above that lone coaster is a mug with pens and such. You can also see my book/notebook pile where I have books I’m currently reading and a notebook for blog ideas or anything else I have to jot down. On the opposite far corner I have my spare monitor that I got at work for free (they were getting rid of older monitors) which I connect to my laptop when I need two screens. At work I have two and it’s so much easier for me now that I’m used to it.
In front of the spare monitor I have some random beauty products that I find myself needing at my desk from time to time. Under the monitor I keep a few fake books that are used to store things like my external hard drive, my phone tripod, and other items. Besides that I also have my iPad as I generally have some YouTube video playing on it while I’m at my desk. I do have a foot rest under my desk as you can see and you can’t see all the chargers under my desk but I assure you they’re there.
I do try to keep my desk as clear as possible but honestly it doesn’t always happen. I did do a major clean up before this as I’d let things like mail pile up so I’m going to try to keep it as clean as possible going forward!

I really like the look of your desk! I keep a lot of notebooks on my desk too because there’s always something I need to write down so that I don’t forget it. I’ve never heard of “Pier 1” before but marble things are still going strong!
My dad uses two screens at work too, I never tried it out but the idea of it is pretty cool to me.
I see so many youtubers having “fake” books in their room to store things in it and I always loved that idea so much! I might need some for myself, need to check where I can get them from.
I recently organized my desk and now I love it so so much! To me I realised that I can work the best with nothing on my desk which sounds a bit weird at first but all of my things are in the shelves I have around my desk so I really have a nice clean space. I can’t really stay focused anymore with too many things on my desk but honestly I do need to clean it every few weeks because it gets messy so easily.

Thank you! I love having notebooks to jot stuff down because then I can just write it and put it aside for later! And good to hear marble is still cool!
Haha the two screens thing is so fun and cool for sure! It makes it much easier too since I have a laptop screen on the smaller side.
Yeah the “fake” books are just cool to have and great to store small things! You can also make they too with actual books but I haven’t tried it myself.
I feel like I always have my immediate area clear and then it’s like I don’t notice the rest of it! I’ll literally get to my work desk for example, dump my stuff on the far end of my desk behind me and forget it’s all there until I leave haha! I do prefer having it cleared though.

I love having a nosy at what other people keep on their desks! I always try to keep mine organised and pretty but it always seems to get taken up by random mess, haha. I love the look of your desk though! I’m jealous x

Haha I always end up with random stuff on it too! I just feel like I have tunnel vision and only focus on what is in front of me so I forget to clear it off again. And thank you, I’m glad you liked it!

Hahahahaha I just can’t get enough of screens! I have my tv behind me though so I’m not tempted to get distracted by Netflix or something!
