Hello everyone! Today I’m doing a Tag Me Tuesday with the 20 Questions Blog Survey – Get to Know Me Better.

This is my third annual BirthMay! What is BirthMay, you ask? Well I blog every day in May because it’s my birth month! I started BirthMay in 2017 and did it again in 2018 so I knew I had to do it again this year.

Way back in the day I used to do tags all the time, and since I started doing them weekly on Tuesdays I called them “Tag Me Tuesday”! I haven’t done a tag in ages as I kinda stopped doing them, along with most of the people I would participate in them with. Which is fine, but I like to do one every once in awhile so here we are!

I found this tag on Pinterest so if you want to check that pin out, I’ll link it here. (Also linked my page there if you want to follow me!)

20 Questions Blog Survey – Get to Know Me Better

1. Do you have any nicknames?

Hmmm, I don’t really. I mean, some people call me Pam, which is normal for people with my name. Select people call me Pammy. Namely my grandfather, my sister, and my coworker John who does not recognize boundaries clearly. *EYE ROLL* (Just kidding Johnny although I know you’re not reading this.)

2. Are you named after anyone?

I am not! I would have been named Ines, after my grandmother, but one of my mom’s older sisters beat her to it. Plus my parents planned to go back to their birth country, Mexico, after a few years in the U.S. so my mom gave my sister and me more “American” names so we’d stand out. Well, they stayed here after all so oh well.

3. Do you have any siblings?

I do! One little sister and I love her dearly but she’s plenty.

4. Where did you grow up?

In a northern suburb of Chicago! It’s far too small for my taste but it’s not the worst I suppose.

5. What activities did you do in high school?

Oh wow, we’re throwing it way back now. Yikes, let me see. I did band for 4 years (flute player here!), flags team, mock trial, swimming (I was team captain my senior year), track and field, I did a computer program for a bit but they refused to properly train me because I was in sports and gone for 2/3rds of the year so I quit that fast, and I feel like there was more but I don’t remember anymore!

6. Where did you go to college?

Elmhurst College! And then I went there again recently for my MBA.

7. What activities did you do in college?

Oh wow, this is a lot to remember. I did band here as well for the three years I was on campus (I studied abroad one semester and then graduated a semester early), student government, cross country/track and field, student newspaper, the “go green” group, the Hispanic students group, ballet (as a fun class but there was a recital so it kinda counts), and I’m sure there’s more but I don’t recall right now what they may have been!

8. What did you study in college?

I did International Business as my major in undergrad and I did General Management for my MBA specialization.

9. What was your first job out of college?

I worked customer service actually. It was rough and NOT for me but I learned so much there and got my foot in the door at the company that I’m still working at now.

10. What kind of music do you like?

A bit of everything! Seriously, I have favorites in all the genres. Mostly I listen to pop and musical theatre but also some rock and I’ve really been enjoying R&B lately.

11. What’s one hobby that you’d like to take up?

Probably something more active like hiking or something.

12. What did you think you wanted to be when you grew up?

A lawyer or president of the United States. Honestly, I still dream of the latter.

13. What’s the biggest project on your to-do list?

I’m figuring out next steps in my career! Graduation is approaching so it’s way past time to do that haha.

14. Do you have an irrational fears?

Yes, I don’t wear rings because I’m worried that they’ll get stuck and doctors will have to cut off my finger to get it off. As my mom and one of my former managers said “they’ll cut off the ring before your finger” and on top of the fact that I have size 5 ring sized fingers and most stores only carry as small as 6, it’s a little irrational.

15. Have you ever traveled outside the country? If so, where?

Not too much. I studied abroad in Barcelona in college and also visited a few other places in Spain (Sevilla, Valencia, and Sitges) along with Venice and Paris. I’ve also gone to Mexico a handful of times! (Latest trip linked there.) So not too many places but when I do, I go bit apparently!

16. When’s your next vacation and where are you going?

I don’t have another planned just yet but I am thinking of doing a trip to AZ in the fall to see my friend Erin. We’re still figuring out potential dates though!

17. Do you speak any other languages?

I do! I speak Spanish, with a very strong American accent.

18. What’s one talent that you wish you had?

Cooking! I’m trying to learn now haha.

19. What’s something that you wish you could do one more time?

I can’t really think of anything! I mean, maybe living in Barcelona because that city was just so beautiful and amazing.

20. If you weren’t in your current job, what would you want to be doing?

Oh there’s so many options! Probably owning that tequila company I want to start haha!
