Hello everyone! I wanted to update my Actual Life Goals for 2019!

This is my third annual BirthMay! What is BirthMay, you ask? Well I blog every day in May because it’s my birth month! I started BirthMay in 2017 and did it again in 2018 so I knew I had to do it again this year.

I had done my original goals in 2017 and then I updated in 2018, so might as well do a 2019!

2017’s Goals

Get an MBA

OMG I completed this one! So crazy to think that in 2017, the original goals post where this first appeared, I was only thinking about applying to my program to try to get in. This year, I finished and now I’m graduating! Wow, that is so crazy!!!

Publish a book

I have had this generic goal for awhile but I think I need to pick what kind of book I want to get published. Then, you know, write it before I can really try to go for this one.

Start my own company

Year 1 I was thinking of a convention but we all know how well Fyre and TanaCon went… Events are hard businesses people! Don’t think they’re just all fun and games! Year 2 was a subscription box, but there’s so many in the market now because everyone is obsessed and I really think that there’s just way too many now. Year 3 is going to be a tequila company! I’ve been thinking of this for awhile so that’s also why!

Make music

I’ve started learning guitar and I’ve played flute for 10 years so I know music okay. I am planning to go to song writing classes at my local library (they’re free!) and a classmate last semester who did write his own songs told me what apps he’s used before so I’m going to try this!

Run the Disney Princess Half Marathon

I’m going to start running more seriously so this is looking more and more likely than the past two years!

Learn a third language

I’ve learned a bit more of French, but need to get back in that!

Give a TED Talk

Should I do one on relentless positivity?

Win a prestigious prize like a Pulitzer or Nobel

Not chasing this but hopefully someday!

Become an advocate for a good cause

It’d likely be education or women’s rights. I could also see myself fighting for civil rights as a whole as well. My parents came from Mexico to the USA so I also believe in immigrant rights and since that makes me Hispanic then I’m also a member of a racial minority. There’s a lot I would have to work for! I’d likely also use my writing for this as well but I’ve always been interested in politics so maybe someday I’ll run for office? Channeling Leslie Knope here. *Original goal text is still perfect!*

Run for political office & win!

I could definitely do this! Leslie Knope is my idol clearly.

Design fashion, make up, and/or home items

I’ve taken a free sewing lesson at my local library and while I’m starting small, I could do fashion or home items with that! LOOK! MY DREAMS ARE COMING TRUE!

Find my passion

This was the cool thing to do in college, but I never found mine. At least not yet. I don’t think I’ve put enough effort into this one, so that may be why. I do really well when I set goals and work towards them so I know once I find it, I’ll be able to get anything done. *Original paragraph here as well!*

2018’s Goals

Move to a new place

Well I’ve mentioned this a few times, and I’ve been looking for where my future home will be! I’ve considered a few places, most recently San Antonio!

Travel more

I’ve started to travel a lot more. I do a Mexico trip every year and then this year I added San Antonio to my trip to Houston! How fun! I’m still working on planning a trip to Arizona and another to Florida at some point.

Move out

I’m not really close to this because of student loans but hopefully someday!

2019 Goals

New goals!

Direct a Film

I would love to direct a film! Maybe just a small film or something, not anything major ha! I think that would be super fun and a great time, plus I love telling people what to do so it would be a good match, don’t you think?

Compose a Song

I would love to create music, since I love it so much. I’ve started learning guitar although I’d love to learn piano as well so I can use both of those to try to make something!

Learn Animation

I’ve had an idea for a short animation film for years, but I don’t know anyone who can animate it for me and it would probably be really expensive to get someone to do it so I would love to learn someday so I can make my little film! And it would mean I get to check off that directing goal too!

And those are my life goals! I have to say, I add to these every year but don’t seem to accomplish any so is that a problem? How weird haha! So what are your goals, please share!
