Hello everyone! Grab a coffee and let’s welcome BirthMay together, shall we?

This is my third annual BirthMay! What is BirthMay, you ask? Well I blog every day in May because it’s my birth month! I started BirthMay in 2017 and did it again in 2018 so I knew I had to do it again this year.
So what am I having today? The Starbucks Chai Latte! I love this drink and one of my favorite things to do at airports is locate the nearest Starbucks, grab a chai with a ham and swiss sandwich, and sit to enjoy it before the flight.
So, here we go!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that BirthMay prep went well and I feel so prepared for the month! I scheduled my first BirthMay post (Day 18) super early back in March and have been writing and scheduling since to make sure that BirthMay isn’t quite as stressful for me as it has been in the years past. I mean, it’s always fun but seeing as I go from doing two posts a week to posting every day it’s sometimes a little much. I think you’re going to enjoy it though!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my work trip to Houston was so much fun! I’m posting a full recap of the trip tomorrow so look forward to that. It went really smoothly (except for the flight to get there) and I’m so happy I was able to go to the event again this year. This was year 3 and so we kept joking that literally third times’ the charm for these events!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my vacation to San Antonio was also fun! I really enjoyed getting to explore a new city and enjoy time on my own. My post on this trip will be up on Friday so you can also look forward to that. I was thinking of moving to San Antonio, so the main purpose of the vacation was to experience the city and see how it felt. I did really like it but more on that in my Friday post.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I am so happy to be home! While I adore travelling, I also love coming home. I always prefer to unpack right away, which my parents can’t understand. They always want to leave the luggage in the garage for a few days in case there’s insects in them but they’re in the garage so surely they’ll make their way in anyway? I just brought in my suitcase and unpacked though so oh well.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that before I left I had pulled out my storage bins full of my spring/summer clothing to be able to grab stuff from them for the trip. Texas was already in the high 70s/80s so I knew that my winter clothes would not be needed. I left the bins in my room thinking that when I returned I’d need to switch it all out anyway. Well, it snowed the day I came back this past weekend so I guess I’ll continue to wait on that! Ugh, winter.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I really need to redecorate my home office. It’s starting to feel stale and not as much of a creative space as I would like. I think part of it is that I also feel like it’s a cramped space as there’s just so much in it. My next project is to redo it! I’m hoping to be able to get rid of all the items piling up in there (stuff I want to add to a garage sale we want to have, clothes I want to put on Poshmark, books from a bookshelf that fell off when the bookshelf just decided it was done doing it’s job…) and hopefully make it more open. I won’t buy new furniture in case the moving thing does work out in a few years so I won’t have to worry about it but I do want to add maybe some wall art finally or just more pops of color.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I am already trying to plan another trip. I really do love to travel so I’m trying to see where I can fit another trip in. It is a lot of work to plan something and make sure it fits with my schedule as well as the schedules of those affected (i.e. my work coverage) but it’s so worth it!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that Graduation is just around the corner!!! I am so excited for the day and I just can’t wait to walk across the stage! I’ve decided I’m taking a half day off of work so I can work in the morning, get ready in the afternoon, and be on campus for the event by evening when it begins! Now, what am I going to wear…?
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m feeling so positive! This is great because my new goal in life is to be relentlessly positive and so I’m really glad that it really seems to be working. Honestly, the mind is such a powerful thing and when you think positive, it really works. At least, it does for me. I know it’s not always as easy for everyone so I should make that clarification!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that we are now on a count down for the yearly goal, “getting stuff done”. I’m really loving these yearly goals as they do carry over each year after they’ve been done. For example, my Year 26 goal of speaking up is still being worked on and is so ingrained now! I’m going to miss this goal but I think I have a great one for Year 28. I had come up with one that I liked but then the other day I had a revelation of something I desperately need and I feel like it’s perfect!
So that’s what I’d share if we were having coffee. What would you tell me?
Thanks for reading!

They’re so fun to write and share! I only wish we could have coffee IRL hahaha! And thank you, I’m so glad that it’s apparent through the post. Sometimes I worry that it won’t sound the same as what I mean it to sound, ya know? 🙂

ahh ME TOOO!
yeah I totally feel ya! You articulate yourself well– never doubt it! I actually have a pretty dry and sarcastic sense of humor that at times I’m afraid won’t translate through my writing hah- but people are usually in tune to it ! Have a great rest of the week, girl!

Eeee!! I’m so excited that I’ve finally made it your first Birthmay post on my Reader. Sorry it took me so long to get here!!
I love your airport Starbucks routine– sounds so peaceful & delish. 🙂 That’s so crazy that you’re graduating soon soon soon. Can’t wait to see what you decide to wear!! & being relentlessly positive is a great goal!! Speaking up is important, too, I’m happy to hear you’ve got that ingrained now. 🙂

Awww it’s more than okay! I think I’m always a week behind now on everything now haha! The airport routine def helps get me looking forward to the experience of flying. Then it all feels familiar and, most of all, safe haha! And yikes, I still need to find a dress for graduation!!
