If We Were Having Coffee – April 2019

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to have a coffee chat with you today! Let’s catch up!

Today I’m having a Starbucks Cloud Caramel Macchiato! It’s the drink they did in collab with Ariana Grande, and it’s good! I’m getting a tall though because geez that caffeine!

Okay let’s get to it!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m done with my MBA!!! I’m going to do a whole post on this that will go up on Sunday but I couldn’t not mention it here. I’m so, so happy and so incredibly proud of meeeeeeee!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m heading to Texas this month! I work on an event that lets me go onsite and work their event in Houston. I’m going to be there for a week for work. Then the week after I extended my trip to be in San Antonio! I’m going to share both trips with you guys so I hope you’re as excited as I am! As some of you may know, I want to move to San Antonio but I haven’t been. I’m looking forward to visiting the city that may be my future home.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m pretty sure you’re going to enjoy BirthMay! All the usual favorites are making an appearance. Beauty, travel, Self Care Sundays, and more!! Plus graduation will have it’s own post too.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I had to order a jacket for work the other day and right away my friend John said “you got it in pink didn’t you?” so clearly that’s my brand. My two other friends Erin and Chrissy both said I had to get the pink too so I think it’s time to embrace my inner Pink Lady again.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve bought a cookbook and I’m planning to learn how to cook! I got Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings Hungry for More book, which is her second cookbook. I looked through the book a bit and the recipes look amazing! I’m not sure how easy they are actually so who knows how it will turn out but either way, I’ll give it a try.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m planning to do a closet clear out soon! I have way too much clothing as it is so I really want to get rid of everything. I watched the Marie Kondo series on Netflix back in January but I had my Mexico trip and then I had the start of my semester so I basically put off doing it until I knew I would have more time. Now I think I can finally get to it! My original plan was to try to record it for a video or at least do a blog post but I feel like that trend is long over so I’ve missed that window of opportunity. Ah well, at least I can get rid of stuff!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m on such a musical theatre kick right now! I’ve watched a ton of vlogs on Broadway.com’s YouTube channel where cast members of various shows will do 8 vlogs showing life in their show. I’ve watched multiple Wicked cast members, seen one on The Phantom of the Opera, the Pretty Woman one, and a few others too. I love these! I try to only watch ones that I’ve already seen the show so I can avoid spoilers but there’s a few where I’ve seen the show but not these vlogs so I have some more to catch up on. I love how great these “behind the scenes” portions are too!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that now that the weather is finally getting better I’m really starting to enjoy 2019! I mean, there’s been good moments of course, but it’s been so much of being stuck inside or just not feeling up to leaving the house due to the bitter cold. Now that it feels like spring out though, I can’t wait to spend more time outside!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my newest goal for relentless positivity is also going well. I feel like while I’m personally benefiting a lot from it, this goal is really eye-opening how focused on the negative some people can be. So far my only reaction to this is “well that’s not very positive” so maybe I should keep that up as it seems to be helping.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that this is my last full month with the goal of “get it done”! Every year for my birthday I pick something new to focus on and that was my Year 27 goal. I’m going to be sad to see it go as it has become a sort of a mantra. I think it was so, so useful this year as it was my final year as an MBA student but now I really need to start thinking of a new goal for year 28.

So, what would you tell me if we were having coffee?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Congratulations on finishing your MBA!! That is so exciting! Good luck doing your closet clear out. I am always working on my closet but I can never seem to get rid of enough clothes. I did love Marie’s book and the Netflix series though!

  2. I’m jealous, have so much fun in Texas!! Also, good luck with learning to cook, I find that recipes just kinda work themselves out – I rarely feel like I’m doing anything right but my food turns out edible 😀 So happy for warm weather as well, this winter was long and crazy!!

    • I’m so excited! Texas is probably one of my favorite places but also I haven’t been to that many places so maybe that’s not saying much? HA! Lol I love that you feel that way but your food still ends up being good! I can’t wait to put my coat away. I’ve tried but then quickly realize I need it again haha. Please hurry summer!!!

  3. Congratulations first on the completion of school! You deserve a few flutes of bubbly.

Isn’t Kondo inspiring? I was about to dismiss her but then I watched the episodes and was hugely inspired. So I reduced half my wardrobe and am the happier for it. Here’s to a functional, neat wardrobe and less worries about stuffing clothes into every corner. I just could not do it to my books!!! And Adi is so fed up of them. 😛

    • Awwww thank you!!! Haha, I would totally agree with you!

And yes, I was so skeptical, I have to admit but as I was watching I became completely hooked! I think I need to rewatch an episode or two as it’s been too long. The books are absolutely the thing I’m so worried I won’t be able to say goodbye to!

  4. Aww, I miss Starbucks! Starbucks isn’t big out here in Australia so I don’t have one right outside my house as I did back at home 😦

Congrats on completing your MBA! I would looooove to hear about your overall experience. I’m considering applying to an MBA program as well when I head back home.

Have fun in Texas and hope you enjoy cooking! I’m learning how to cook this year as well and it’s been a fun adventure so far 🙂

    • Oh no! That’s too bad you don’t have a Starbucks near you! Have you found an alternative though?

And thank you!!! I believe I’ve scheduled my update on my last semester for this weekend’s post.

Thank you! I’m excited for Texas and to have that new adventure. And I will have to update on my cooking on my blog I think, everyone seems to be super on board with that idea haha!
