Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing the spring FabFitFun box with you.
So I’ve been getting FabFitFun boxes for quite some time now, over a year! I do still enjoy them although I will admit, I seriously considered canceling this one. I am an annual member so I pay $179.99 for four boxes, one per season. Still, I do enjoy them and so I did extend my subscription for another year.
My 2019 Spring FabFitFun Box
Every box partners with a different charity organization and artist. This season was Ian Somerhalder’s organization, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation which focuses on helping the planet. It seems they mainly work on helping animals and cleaning up the land. The box design this month was done by Canadian designer Helen Dardik, who was inspired by Arizona for the graphics.
So with the boxes you have some ability to customize them. For annual members like me you can pick 5 of the items from various choices (seasonal subscribers I believe are 3 choices and the other 2 are randomly assigned). Then the last 3 items are standard for every box. Here’s what I ended up choosing!
The first item I picked was the Show Me Your Mumu Brie Robe, which retails for $84. While I wouldn’t pay $84 for a robe, I do like it. I had heard lots of complaints about the robe being short, which it is, but it is clearly meant for spring/summer and made of a lighter fabric so I don’t view that as a negative. The other choices were a backpack (more on that later) and an aromatherapy diffuser.
The next choice I selected was the Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial, which retails for $48. I’ve liked Korres products in the past so I was excited for this one! I can’t wait to try it out. The other choices were sunglasses (two different options) and a picnic cutlery set for two. Looking back, I wish I’d gotten the picnic set too but maybe it’ll be offered in a future sale.
The last choice that was for every member had three options. I selected the Giadzy Copper Plated Measuring Spoons, which retails for $15. I can’t wait to use them next time I bake or when I try to cook someday. Since I don’t do either of those things often it’s kind of silly that I picked them but the other options were a lotion and a mystery item. I’m glad I went with these as I always have tons of lotions and the mystery item ended up being a lip gloss or something like that in a brown shade.
Now, annual members get to select two more items while seasonal members have them randomly selected for the items. I’m an annual member so I picked out the Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Setting Powder, which retails for $ 22. I can’t wait to try it! The other options were a necklace and a water bottle. I don’t really like the jewelry that are offered in the boxes as they don’t always seem sturdy and I don’t often wear them. The water bottle would have been nice but I have plenty of those (colors for the bottles were randomly selected for everyone).
The last option I picked was the Tula Purifying Face Cleanser, which retails for $28. I really need a cleanser, so this was perfect timing! I’m a little worried as I’ve heard that some people break out with this but hopefully not. The other choices were a body brush for the shower and a jump rope.
The last three items were the same for everyone and I try to keep them a surprise but it never works, I always get spoiled! The first of the items is the Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub, which retails for $34.95. I have a few body scrubs so I might save this for a gift or something.
The second item is the OUAI Leave in Conditioner, which retails for $26. I will likely try this out as my hair gets super tangled really fast.
Last item is the Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More No More Baggage Eye De-puffing Gel, which retails for $24. I don’t think I have under-eye bags or dark circles but I do love Dr. Brandt from items I’ve tried before. I might also save this for a gift though.
So for me, my total box value was $281.95. I do like that just this one box is worth more than what I paid for the annual subscription! The items are always things I might not necessarily get for myself, but they’re always fun to try out and experience.
My 2019 Spring FabFitFun Additional Item
So, as I mentioned above, you can pick certain items for your box. However, if you want more than one item from the choices, you can chose to purchase it for an additional $10. For this box, I only added one item out of the 5 customizations.
The item I added is the Deux Lux Demi Backpack, which retails for $75. It’s a canvas bag and has adjustable straps. It doesn’t seem super secure because the bag has a post closure, so you only push the pin into the strap that closes it, and there’s no zipper. Still, I liked how it looked and I think it’s a great spring/summer bag.
My 2019 Spring FabFitFun Add Ons
So FFF has pretty frequent sales, where you can purchase additional items that are not included in boxes but still discounted for members. Usually they’re items that were featured in previous boxes, or items from brands that had been featured. I will usually get a few items along with my box, although I do try to limit how much I buy and avoid the sales that are not at the same time as the boxes as those have shipping fees (these are free shipping with the box, “edit” sales are the ones with fees and you normally have to buy at least $35 I believe to get free shipping).
The first item I selected was the COOLA Classic Face SPF 50 White Tea. I paid $14 for this moisturizer, which I was so excited for since I love the one I got in a previous box, the 2018 Summer Box. I nearly bought 3, which was the max, but SPF does expire and is less powerful overtime. Since it lasts a long time, I didn’t want to risk it. But I do love this SPF moisturizer and I’m so happy I got it at a good price. It normally is $32.
For fun, I selected the Masque Bar Luminizing Charcoal Peel Off Mask 3 Pack. I paid $5 for this pack. I wish I’d checked the retail price for it since I figured it was probably a great deal, but it actually only retails for about $8-10 depending where you go. Not the best deal, but I’m excited to try them. Plus, I am running low on these masks because I don’t get some of the smaller, more frequent boxes I used to get.
Last but not least is the Summer & Rose Rosie Computer Glasses. I paid $17 for this pair. These are probably one of the items I’m most excited about, since I stare at computer screens all the time! They retail for $60 and I can’t wait to try them out. I know people say they help against headaches, which I don’t really get often, but I do feel like I do strain my eyes a lot and I’m hoping this will help.
I also noticed I received a gift with purchase, which FFF does do occasionally. Sometimes you can select them, sometimes they just add them. this one was one they decided to add.
If you want to get your own FabFitFun box, feel free to click this link for $10 off! (Not sponsored or any special partnership, everyone with a box gets a link like this and then I get some money or something towards add-ons I believe.)
