Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my life in January.

Also, I’m back from Mexico! Did you miss me??? I’m going to be trying hard to catch up on everyone’s blogs as well as all the comments I’ve missed on mine while I was gone. I ended up having no internet at all which was amazing but now I have so much to catch up on!
New Year’s Day
I had a nice and quiet New Year’s Day at home. Really it’s a stressful holiday as we are supposed to stay up until midnight, sleep in the next day, and then go to work the next. Ugh, the worst. But it wasn’t so bad considering this year New Year’s Day was a Tuesday so there were only three days left in the week before the next weekend, so thank goodness for small miracles I guess! Anyway, the day was mostly spent getting ready to go back to work (mentally more than anything else), watching some Netflix, and some more YouTube as well as laundry to be able to start getting packed for my vacay. At this point I only had one more weekend between myself and my flight so I wanted to make sure if I needed to get anything I had plenty of time over the weekend to get stuff!
Back to Work
After the holiday break we had a three day work week. Naturally, it felt as if it had been two weeks long and we sure voiced that multiple times by Friday. Really, we’re such dramatic babies! Anyway, I was hard at work preparing for my upcoming vacation. I think at this point though no one is really worried that I’ll be gone for two weeks. They know I’m on top of my work and I worked really hard before the break to make sure I was ahead off schedule, delivering work to my clients a month in advance and so on. Plus I finished training the new team member and she’s been doing an amazing job. Of course, I did pick this month because it’s one of my slowest months of the year, so that certainly helps!
I got quite a laugh out of my manager the day we came back from the holiday break as he sent reminders to everyone how much vacation time we have left to schedule. I have five days left (on top of the Mexico trip and two other days I randomly scheduled). Since we’d just returned from a week and a half off and I was leaving for two weeks in another week and a half, I was if he was really that tired of seeing me already. He said he just wanted to remind everyone to use their time. I love my jokes.
Otherwise, we focused on taking down the decorations, getting rid of the ugly tree, and scheduling massages! Yes, that’s right! There is a spa near the office that was offering free massages on Tuesdays for January to people working for companies in the area. Since I was going to be gone for half the month I quickly scheduled mine for the Tuesday before I left. It was a free half hour Swedish massage and I hadn’t had one in ages! I’d actually been planning to try and get one for awhile, so it worked out well.
Mexico Trip
I’m going to save most of my trip for a separate post (or more likely two posts), but I still wanted to talk about it a bit here!

Overall, it was a great trip! I think two weeks was the perfect amount. I got time with my grandfather, time to see Morelia a bit, time for a vacay in it (more on that in my separate posts), time to explore Mexico City, and plenty of downtime too! I want to try to stick with the two weeks plan but we shall see what happens. Honestly, I just can’t believe how fast it went!
Back to Work x2
So technically I haven’t gone back to work yet, that’s tomorrow! But it’s tough to get back after time off, and this will be a full week so I’m a little worried about that! However, it will also include at least one work from home day since we’re about to get a massive snow store tonight. At some point this week it’s also supposed to be negative 47 degrees, so it looks like I wasn’t gone long enough! So working from home should lessen the impact of having such a structured schedule again and it will be nice catching up with everyone again!
So that’s a quick snapshot of my life this month! I have so much more to share from Mexico. However, it’s so much that I’m pretty sure that it will be split into at least two posts. There might be more later on! Let me know what you’re most excited to hear about from those posts.
Thanks for reading!

I can totally relate to the post Christmas feeling, three day week was the longest three days ever!! I’m only just back to doing a full week and its knackering! Looking forward to your Mexico posts xxx

Hahahaha, yes! Three day week and everyone was acting like we’d been working like 15 days straight! It certainly felt like it though. Full weeks can really take it out of you once you get back after time off! And thank you, I hope you enjoy them once they’re up!

Yes yes yes, of course we missed you when you were gone. ♡ That’s crazy you didn’t have internet the whole time! LOL at you asking your manager if he was tired of seeing you already, I love your jokes too. 😂 That’s so cool that you were able to get a free massage!! How nice of the spa to offer those!! Looking forward to your Mexico posts & I hope your first week back at work wasn’t too rough!

It was so weird to not have notifications going all day for two weeks for sure! And whenever I wanted to look something up on like google for example it was rough but overall pretty good haha. And yeah, I was like geez what is going on, we just came back. He laughed too though so good thing he has a sense of humor (most of the time LOL). And I was surprised and so happy they offered free massages. My work bestie hurt her back recently and I told her to schedule a massage there and to make me one too. She laughed but then she didn’t haha! It was so good though!

That is crazy!! I’d be lost without a phone LOL I’m so bad with directions. How can you go without Google Maps especially while traveling?! Ahh!! But hey, it’s nice that you have some more paid vacay time!!! So glad the massages were good. I’ve only gotten one once & it was the worst LOL.

Haha I had to rely a lot on my family members who are from there and knew the area. I did download Google Maps ahead of time but even then it wasn’t helpful because it didn’t know where I was! I’m starting to worry I won’t use enough days but with school I might have to. We’ll see! And yikes, that’s too bad you didn’t get a good experience with the massage! It was so good but I they are pricey for my budget haha so I def don’t do them often. This one I only got because it was free!

OH duh! I knew you had family over there. That def makes it easier to explore with Google Maps! It is cool you can do that download offline feature now though. Even if you have nothing to do, you can just take the days off to relax! 😉 & I think my massage was terrible because it was not expensive, to be honest lol.

Locals are the best tour guides for sure! And oh dear, I think you need to splurge for the next one if you want to try a massage again. If not, well musicals are also great for relaxing, right? 😀

Yay so glad you are back 🙂 Also, I’m so glad you were able to get a Swedish massage in the midst of the craziness! Those are the best. Mexico sounds like it was awesome- how nice to see family. Can’t wait to hear more about it, Pamela ! Thanks for the update!
