Hi everyone! Welcome back to Blogmas! Today we’re doing the Christmas Tag for Tag Me Tuesday as well and revealing the 11th Blogmas Advent Calendar item!

Anyway, I found this Christmas Tag on Quite Simply Stella’s blog this Blogmas. She did not one, not two, but three parts of this tag (all linked accordingly)! Be sure to check hers out if you haven’t already!
So here’s the Christmas Tag!
As a kid – did a sibling receive a present you wished for?
I don’t think so because we would make our lists ahead of time and Santa stuck to the list in a very dedicated manner. Plus we’re three years apart so we didn’t really want the same stuff anyway.
Do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I like giving more. It’s just more fun to shop for the gifts than to open them and plus I tend to just buy myself what I want. I have quite an expensive taste and my parents are not about that life so I kinda have to!
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?
I don’t. I do make one “goal” every year on my birthday which I view as a resolution of sorts but I don’t do New Year’s ones.
Do you open presents on Christmas Eve?
No, but we do stay up until midnight and open them then. That comes from when we would go over to my uncle’s house as he and his family loved to host and we’d open presents at midnight. That tradition stuck but technically it’s Christmas Day at that point!
Do you visit a poor people’s place on Christmas?
I agree with Stella that this question is phrased weird. I also agree it must be like a shelter or soup kitchen. I don’t although I did try this year (that’s a story for another day). Even though I don’t visit and volunteer I do participate in a few things around the office. We normally do things like Toys for Tots, collect canned food for a local food pantry, and we also do gifts for a home for foster kids. This year I chose to focus on the foster kids so I donated a really awesome toy that I had bought to gift to a kid of a friend’s but then he grew out of it before I could give it to him. So I donated it for a foster kid as I don’t have anything I can do with it and it’s really cute. I also had a fuzzy pink blanket for a baby and a set of onesies for a baby girl as well. My mom had it for my cousin’s baby but we never got around to sending it so she grew out of it as well. Then I had bought a fuzzy pink sweater from the teens section at Walmart but I didn’t like how it looked on me so instead of returning it I donated it instead. I suppose I could have shopped specifically for the kids instead of donating stuff that I had already but it seemed wasteful to go out and buy only to then keep stuff we didn’t need (it was all brand new as well, never opened/tags still on/etc.).
How many gifts have you received on Christmas?
This reminds me of the Harry Potter scene with Dudley complaining about his birthday gifts being less than the previous year! I have no idea. My sister and I always got to pick 3 gifts for Santa to get us, my parents would get us a few things, and then usually there’s a few random things I get too.
How do you decorate your house on Christmas Day?
I’m guessing it means just the season because I can’t imagine you decorate on actual Christmas Day. Besides the tree I also have some other decorations like Christmas mugs, DIY items, and stuff like that! I did posts on both my tree and my decor if you want to look those up on my blog.
Is your tree real or fake?
Fake! We only use fake trees in my house!
Most memorable holiday moment?
I don’t think I have one that stands out right now, they’re all great so it’s hard!
Who makes Christmas Day special for you?
The people around me!
Do you prefer your birthday or Christmas?
My birthday because then it’s all about ME!
Use one word to describe your excitement for Christmas.
Yay!
Most surprising Christmas moment.
I think when my parents took my sister and I to Chicago to go to the American Girl store to get dolls! I recently told my mom that I was so annoyed when she bought the dolls because I wanted to see the moment when she paid and the doll was mine so much but my dad basically dragged me away with my sister. The reason why was because she and my dad snuck other items that we had liked into the basket for presents so of course we couldn’t see that they did that but I was sooooo annoyed!
What do you like to do on Christmas break?
It’s so weird to me that most companies don’t close that week. Mine does and honestly it’s one of the best perks we have. The company founder started it and although the company I work for has been bought a few times it’s still stuck. I normally just stay home to be honest but that’s my favorite thing to do!
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to?
I don’t think I have anything in particular in mind but I can’t wait to make cookies!
What is the best gift you have ever received?
I haven’t gotten a puppy yet so probably that American Girl doll!
What is the worst gift you have received?
I remember a shirt I got from a family member one year that I thought was cute at the time but now I look back and cringe. My sister actually got the same shirt from the same family member which seems silly. It was a pink and white striped shirt made out of a weird material that was itchy and stiff.
What is your all time favorite holiday food/treat?
Desserts are my favorite! Cookies, cake, etc. You name it I love it!
What is your favorite Christmas film?
My favorite film to watch over Christmas is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone but specifically Christmas is probably Elf.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
I’ve been enjoying “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” lately and more of the traditional songs and sounds.
What makes the holiday special for you?
This seems similar to the above question but I guess this is about the season in general? The decorations then! I love seeing the decor, lights going up, trees, and more.
What would be your dream Christmas destination?
Probably Mexico to spend the holidays with my grandfather for once! I have a ton of family in Mexico so that’s why. Or maybe a Disney park or Universal Studios would be nice?
Do you prefer to travel or be at home on Christmas?
I’ve never traveled for the holidays so I’m not sure! I’d love to try it to know.
What’s the best part of Christmas for you?
I suppose most of the reasons I love weekends. It’s a day for peace and home, instead of, well, work haha!
When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
Around Thanksgiving. This year was after but usually before!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home! Sometimes we visit family but not often. Usually we stay home.
Who does a lot of work in your home on Christmas?
Depends. Decor is me, food is my parents, dessert is me.
What’s your Christmas wish?
A quality education for everyone. I feel like it would solve most of the world’s problems!
Advent Calendar Item #11
So the 11th item in our Blogmas Advent Calendar is…

A game to play! I used these Harry Potter playing cards but a board game would be great too. I mentioned that we stay up until midnight so oftentimes we need something to do to pass the time. A game would be a great way to do that and still spend quality time with the people you’re with.
So that’s the Christmas tag! Be sure to let me know if you do the tag so I can read your responses. Also, on a scale from 1 to 10, how festive are you feeling now?
Thanks for reading!

I can’t get Dudley shouting “but last year, last year” out of my head now. 😂 I love the American Girl Doll memory you have & that’s so nice that your company is closed for the week! Staying home from work & all the decor is my favorite part of the season, too! I agree that quality education for everyone would solve a lot of problems! & on a scale of 1 to 10, how festive am I feeling? Around 6! I was at like 9 in the beginning of the month lol.

Hahahaha that’s literally my parents favorite part. They talk about it so often! Haha I still have my doll and I am so happy that the office is closed for the week. It’s much needed even if I will have to work a few hours. I think I’m also a 6 now because it just feels like I’ve been festive for so long now 😂
