Hi everyone! Welcome back to Blogmas! Today I wanted to share my latest VoxBox from Influenster and the 9th item of our Blogmas Advent Calendar.
I do want to say before I go on, Influenster sent me this box free for review purposes. However, all opinions are my own for each item in the box.

I have received a few voxboxes in the past, and I’ll add my thoughts on Influenster and this system as a whole later on. For now, let’s look at the What A Girl Wants box!

Overall this was a pretty good box as it had a range of products. The first item was the Not Your Mother’s Beat the Heat Thermal Spray. I haven’t used this as I don’t use heat on my hair but I might give it to a friend who does. I wouldn’t expect it to be bad as I have seen a few things on this brand and it seems interesting enough. The full size retails for $5.99 and I’m guessing the trial size would be around $3.
Next is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1. I have used this product before and I do like it so I’m glad to have a small travel size! The regular size retails for $8.99 and I think the trial would also be $3 or so for this.
I also got a box of Toffifay treats! I do like them so I think this was the most exciting product for me. They have chocolate, hazelnut, caramel, and a roasted hazelnut which makes this an amazing treat. This retails for $6.39 for 30 pieces or $2.69 for 12 pieces.
Lastly, I got two bottles of Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Vacation Time and Rorange. I don’t do my nails too often so I don’t know if I’ll really use them but the colors are cute! I think Vacation Time is my favorite. Each bottle retails for $1.99.
So when I first got the spoilers of what was in this box, I have to admit, I was so disappointed! The image on Influenster’s Instagram featured a cute pair of shoes, so everyone was saying it was shoes. And it made sense because that is literally what girls want. But nope, no shoes. I knew it was too good to be true but it was so exciting to imagine! The card that came with the items also features a ton of makeup and none of that is in there so clearly they just take a ton of pretty photos and put their own stuff over it.
Now, I do have to be honest with my thoughts on Influenster. I don’t think they do a great job of really matching people with their boxes. For example, I always answer my surveys honestly so I would think I’d be getting more like make up and skin care items rather than nail polish or hair heat protectant spray which I always answer that I never use. This is both for the surveys you do on the website in general and the ones sent to your email to see if you would be a good fit for the box. I know I always answer that I’m super interested in the ones with foundation, but I never get foundation. I don’t mind that they require links to all your social media or anything as they of course need to make sure they’re sending it to people with a specific reach for the companies that are sending their products out and so on, but at least send stuff people are interested in!
Also now that I’m seeing more trial size items it’s kind of disappointing as well. I get it’s free but it’s so much work for a box after you get it to share the box and it just seems silly to do so much for free trial products. I’m honest about this because I’ve had people, non-bloggers I should note, that tell me “I wish I could get free stuff, maybe I’ll sign up”. But it’s so much work because you need to do a ton of activities on social media (this blog post counts as one activity usually – it does for this box), so it takes a lot of work to promote the items after you get it delivered. And that’s the point of the box, to promote it in exchange for the items.
The promotion and the ability to claim your actions on them is also annoying for me because the app had completely stopped working during my last two boxes! There’s next to no way to complete the “badges” without being able to upload screenshots onto the app proving you’ve done the work, and for my last box it completely stopped accepting images so I couldn’t complete the badge or the bonus badge which helps you get more boxes later. I’ll talk about the more boxes part in a minute, but it’s just annoying to do the work and not get the credit for it. I eventually gave up as the only thing the customer service people suggested I do is reinstall the app. It sounded like they didn’t even look into if I had tried or not.
I’ve made the decision that I don’t want to fill out the surveys for additional boxes. Like I said, it’s time consuming and I usually don’t have that kind of time anymore. Plus I’m just not interested in trying out items that I’m not very interested in. I do still have my contact page in case brands do ever want to reach out later and work with me, but I do have a note on there that they need to include the rates they want to pay so I don’t get those often. I hope to still do reviews, just of items I buy. In which case it will be less reviews than I already do as I don’t buy much anymore but I’ll try anyway!
Advent Calendar Item #9
So the 9th item of our Blogmas Advent Calendar is…

A recycled materials notebook! I know a lot of people love notebooks, myself included, so I wanted to add one into the calendar and this one is made of recycled materials which is amazing!
So let me know if you’ve tried any of these items, and if so, what did you think?
Thanks for reading!

it sucks that they don’t match the products with your preferences very well.. i always thought that was such a cool idea! the toffifay looks delicious 💛

Yeah, I mean, I do like trying new stuff but overall it’s kind of like the same issue some people have about subscription boxes where sometimes it’s just stuff you’re not interested in at all. And the toffifay is actually really good! That’s my favorite item I got in this one!

Influenster is the best! Even when I get things that don’t cater specifically to me, it’s nice to get free stuff to give away 👍🏼 love the notebook too

True, it is fun to get free stuff! Just when it’s like stuff that I really won’t use such as hair stuff it’s kind of a bummer!

I was about to give up on Influenster too just because it really is a ton of work & their app is seriously always down or glitching. I didn’t even respond to their survey about the last box that I posted about so I thought for sure I would never be contacted by them again buuut all of a sudden I was sent another box with really amazing products so I feel I have to keep going with them now.
I would love to try those chocolates but everything else in this box would go unused by me! I am the biggest hater of those Sinful Colors nailpolishes. 😛 but I am excited about our advent calendar gift today! I love notebooks!

Hmmm I might keep doing the surveys then and see! I’m sure since I did almost no promotion for the last two boxes I got I might be kicked off their list soon haha!
Awwwwwww I’m glad you liked today’s gift! 💖💖💖
