My August Sephora Play Box!

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to share with you my August Play Box from Sephora! Before I continue, full disclosure, I had thought about canceling this subscription along with the others I have. However, I was impressed by this box and normally do enjoy them more than I previously thought, so I think I’ll keep this one up!

This month’s theme is “Back to Beauty School” which I loved! I’m going to start school next week (where did the summer go?) for my second year in grad school so I’m excited to see how that journey goes. This fit in perfectly!

The bag is pink and yellow which looks adorable and has a fun school theme as well. The bag has both school and make up supplies on it, so that is super fun and the brochure also is themed. As for the items? I’m excited to try them!

First up is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel. It does say it’s an exclusive item so I’m not sure if it’s because of the fancy packaging or what but it looks pretty good! I have good eyebrows overall but sometimes they decide to be unruly, so there we go.

Next is the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211 which is a soft rosewood shade and has a satin finish. I feel like I might have gotten this one before or at least something similar. I have way too many lipsticks! I love them but I really, really love them. It does look pretty so I might gift this one.

Then I received the Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray which I don’t think is a dry shampoo but more like a volume-izing spray. It seems interesting so I might try it but on a day when I don’t need to go anywhere as my hair is quite picky and I’m worried it’ll make my hair look like I haven’t washed it in weeks (which it’s prone to do although I wash it nearly every day). But if it works I think it’ll be a new favorite!

Another exclusive item is the Grande Cosmetics Lip Plumper in Clear. I don’t quite understand the lip plumping trend so I’m not sure I’m going to get much use out of this one actually. I might see if someone wants that one but I’m also kinda tempted to try it?

One of the most exciting items is the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay which sounds amazing. I do love Origins products and I don’t have that many so I can’t wait to see how this one works for me.

Finally, the bonus item of the month is the Amika Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner. I loved the Amika dry shampoo so I’m excited to try more products from this brand! I don’t typically use conditioner so I’m not sure if I’ll try that one much but the shampoo I’m excited to get into. It does say that it’s meant to bring out color so I’m assuming it’s going to try to bring out lighter tones and since I have really dark hair I’m curious to see if it still does that.

So even though there were two items I wasn’t that interested about the rest of the items were new to me and I’m eager to try them. I do think overall the box continues to be a good deal as it’s a great way to try luxury brands and items without buying a full size of a product and not spending too much. So for now I think I’ll keep it awhile longer but try to do a better job of giving away what I don’t need.

So that’s my August Sephora Play Box! Let me know if you got this box and if we got any of the same items.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’ve not got my box yet but I sure hope I don’t get that lipstick because it was definitely included in a past bag already! I don’t usually use lip plumper but I would be so tempted to try it, too!
