Hi everyone! Grab a cup of coffee (or tea or lemonade or whatever else you want) and join me for a chat? (Also included is my One Second a Day July vlog!)Today I’m going to have a Strawberry Acai Refresher from Starbucks, per usual, along with their new strawberry cake pop! Delish!
So grab a drink and let’s get to our monthly catch up session, shall we?
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how I’m trying to up my Instagram game. Not in like making it more of a blog Insta, it’s still a blog/personal account but I put up notifications there of my posts (granted those are usually a day late), or just put more pictures up in general. I’m not sure if I like the more intense usage or if I might get bored of it soon. But it is fun!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how happy I am that my friend Erin came to visit! One of my managers brought in everyone from the department to the office, and so my friend Erin who moved out to Arizona last November came back for a few days! It was so nice and I gave her a million hugs because I was so happy to see her again. She is flying home the day I’m writing this (Sunday) and I miss her so much already!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how much I want to start my own business! I think I’ve told you this many, many times by now as my last idea was a subscription box but my latest idea is a tequila company. I got the idea when a coworker started saying tequila is the only alcohol that is a stimulant and not a depressant and then EVERYONE started loudly exclaiming how much they love tequila and some wild stories emerged. At our desks. In the middle of the work day. For all to hear. But that got me thinking that I could make a business out of that! So far everyone from my department has signed up to work for me and there was already one hostile takeover attempt so she’s been blacklisted from the company. But I do have a salesperson, marketing person, and receptionist, along with a couple other overly enthusiastic people so I really think I’m onto something? (Hope they’re okay working without pay for awhile. Like, geez people, give me some time to turn a profit.)
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how I love to redecorate. I spent all morning today (Sunday) moving around my furniture a bit in my bedroom, yesterday was spent reorganizing my home office, and then earlier today I volunteered to redecorate for my mom. I told her I demand payment in cuddles. I just love to change stuff around! Not necessarily buying new stuff, but just rotating out decorations, moving furniture and items around, or finding a new way to organize. I do need more bookshelves though. #Storyofmylife I do already have a few more ideas for next weekend and still need to fully reorganize my desk so wish me luck!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am about potentially starting a Poshmark shop! I meant to start it this month but I think I am putting it off to next month with a few items I want to get rid of. We do have a community garage sale coming up but the nicer pieces I think could go on Poshmark instead. However I worry that maybe I won’t be able to sell them when I post them and then lose the chance to sell them at the garage sale. I think this is one of those times when I need to just take the chance though!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how I cleaned out my desk at work. I have been working at the company for four years already, and have had my current desk for over half of that time. I had a ton of stuff in there, including notes on meetings from years ago! I finally did a deep clean and brought a ton of stuff I don’t use at work home. It looks super bare now but I think this is a great opportunity to try the minimalistic sort of look. Also now I can make the joke that if I get fired it’ll be easy for my boss to clean out my desk! (I’ve been making the opposite joke for years so this is a brand new opportunity.)
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you that I’m considering moving south in the next 2-5 years. I’m basically expecting my dad to retire early and do so somewhere in that time frame and since he and my mom want to go south I’m trying to figure out where I could go. They already have their plans but I’m thinking Texas. Maybe San Antonio? I’ve never been but it sounds cool. Or perhaps Arizona like Erin or maybe somewhere in lower California. Basically, I want no snow! I do love it but driving in it gives me anxiety (legit anxiety, I’m not just saying that) so I need to get away. Any suggestions? Feel free to leave them down below!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how many activities I found in the nearby park district newsletters and how I really hope I can go to most of them! I know I have classes starting up again in the fall and I always overplan.
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am to start the fall semester! Even though I know it’ll be crazy with three classes, I am excited because it means I only have one more class after that in order to graduate! I can’t wait to walk across the stage for my MBA and I am already planning a graduation season! Party, trip, and hopefully more!
If We Were Having Coffee, I’d tell you how I kinda want to enjoy these few weeks that I won’t have class, enjoy the last bit of summer, and just recharge. To do so I plan to only post on my blog on Wednesdays and Sundays during the month of August. I would also then be taking the month of September off of blogging completely (except the last week for the end of the month posts) as that would be the month that I would make some major changes and updates to my blog (including maybe going self-hosted!). I was going to take August off but I know I will be in weekend classes again in September and that will take up a huge chunk of time that I would otherwise be blogging, so I likely wouldn’t be posting anyway. Would that be okay with all of you?
Oh! And can’t forget my July One Second a Day video! Below is the monthly clip so please enjoy!
And that’s what I’d tell you if we were having coffee! What would you tell me if we were having coffee? Any advice for going self-hosted or what kind of posts you’d prefer to see me do more of when I relaunch my blog in October? Let me know!
Thanks for reading!

I didn’t know that fact about tequila not being a depressant. That strawberry cake pop looks delicious btw! Redocorating and organising can be fun, I always used to enjoy cleaning my desk at school. Take as much time to recharge and away from blogging to enjoy the last few weeks before class starts again as you need 🙂

I didn’t know either! The strawberry cake pop is my new favorite, I want another but am resisting the urge! Today I’m actually reorganizing my bathroom and maybe moving my tv stand into the next room. I haven’t quite decided yet! And thank you! Hopefully will be back up and running normally soon!

Hahahaha it really is! I just did like five insta stories in about five minutes because I try to update my “on the blog” one. Now I’m trying to figure out when I need to delete them from that story or if that’s even possible as it’s already quite long now!

The strawberry acai refreshers are my fave! I had to go with the berry hibiscus the other day because that one and the mango dragonfruit were sold out at the starbucks I went to and I was so sad. And yeah, I’ve wanted my own business since high school but just never have committed to something. And yeah tequila is a stimulant, who knew!

Mmm yeah I’m pretty sure the strawberry acai refresher is what I had when I was over in America a couple of years ago. Aww that’s so sad. I really hope you do manage to set up your own business!! I’m sure you’d do a great job of running it 😘 xx

Omg that’s so cool that you kept up with it for a year! Are you going to do a giant year compilation video with it all?

Your plans are always so exciting! I don’t drink but I’d be a client and give tequila as a gift to everyone to support your business. I can definitely see you as a businesswoman and entrepreneur. I love moving furniture around and redecorating as well but lately I’ve been into simplifying and getting rid of excess stuff and junk which feels wonderful. I think the next time we move we will be buying so it feels exciting when I think about it. We’re just waiting for the prices to drop a little. People are selling shacks for a fortune over here 😂 I hope we can catch up soon. Love and hugs. ❤️

Hehe, thank you! I try to give myself stuff to look forward to haha. And that’s so sweet that you’d be a client and support my business! I’ve wanted to start my own business since I was in high school and now I’m feeling like I really need to focus on those plans. I am trying to get rid of as much stuff as possible myself but it’s hard since I’ll turn around and find a new pile of stuff to go through. It’s so exhausting to get through it all and I feel like I’m on a deadline before the garage sale this month. Hopefully it all sells! Omg that’s so exciting to buy! I can totally help you look! 😀 I love looking at house listings, I do that alllllll the time. Hopefully the market swings in your favor soon. My dad is waiting for home prices to rise in our area so he can put our current place on the market but that’s not for a few years we think. Opposite problem here! Love you and yes, let’s properly catch up! 😀

I remember you telling us about your friend Erin moving! How fun she came back to visit! 😄 A tequila business sounds awesome — it’s my fave, for sure! I didn’t even know it was the only stimulant! I will miss you in September!! ♡ Looking forward to seeing your blog changes in Oct. 😊
