My July Life!

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to share a few things from my life this month! I feel like by the time I get to this post of the week I’ve run out of interesting things to talk about sometimes so maybe I need to rethink my layout of my posts?

The month was very school heavy so I’m thinking I should move my MBA Updates to be in this one going forward. I haven’t decided yet so just be prepared for a surprise next month maybe? Anyway, there was some time for fun this month so let’s get to it!

First up is my Six Flags Great America visits! I went twice this month, which wasn’t as much as I would have liked but unfortunately I was busy with school during the hottest weekend of the month and the rest of them weren’t as nice (either stormy or not warm enough for the pools). The first visit was with one of my work friends whom I keep forgetting for permission to use her name. I’m sure she’d be okay with it, but I don’t want to use it without asking. Either way, we forgot to get a picture because we were at the water park without our phones, then when we went to the rest of the park it started to pour and in our hurry to get to the car and get back to my house where she parked we completely forgot! The second time I went with just my mom and we had a pretty good time at the park. It wasn’t super crowded so it was a great time.

I think I normally put this in my Lively post but I forgot to. I did work with my dad a bit this month. He has his own landscaping company but has scaled it way back so he doesn’t have any employees or really any clients at the moment except for one elderly couple that we have known for a long time. These clients are the reason he started the business years ago so we only kept them on as he decided to start closing down as he doesn’t feel like he can keep up with it anymore. So on Saturdays when I’m free I’ll join him and help out. I love the property and the client is great. I don’t want to get too much into their situation but I will say that once the client terminates the contract we do expect to close the business completely. For now, I’m enjoying it though and I get some quality time with my dad!

Chicago summers are the best! Unfortunately I can see it coming to the end and I’m stressing about it to be honest. But in the meantime, our cucumbers are finally growing! We’ve had a few already to snack on, but we had as many as we could and now we have to wait again. My dad also planted tomatoes, chiles, and nopal which are growing nicely.

Lastly I have my modpodge tea light candle holder! I found some DIY nights advertised in my local library’s newsletter and tried to sign up for a few. I was waitlisted for all of them, I had no idea they were so popular! I did get confirmed for one, but didn’t realize in time and I was quite upset about it! But this one I did see in time and so I went. It was the library employee that put it all together, plus many older women. They were all lovely and the employee that was hosting the event told me to show up to the projects, even if I didn’t come off the waitlist because even though the classes were always at full registration the people wouldn’t come. In fact out of the 15 or so spots set up about half were empty. So I told her I would and I’m so excited for the next one! I suggested a Day of the Dead craft and was super excited when she mentioned she was trying to plan a STEM sort of craft and I’m over the moon about both of those. Oh! And there was another Pam in the room! I rarely meet any other Pamela/Pams (except at work where there’s a million) so I was so excited. Everyone was lovely and I can’t wait to go back.

And that’s my July! Like I said, it was a slower month in terms of fun because I was in school and doing so much homework. But overall it was nice and I can’t wait to see what August has in store for me!

Thanks for reading!

  1. It might have been slower but you still made it count! I love that you help your Dad out and that he keeps doing it for those clients. That is so sweet! I LOVE the tea light holder! So cute! I hope you have an amazing August! ❤

    • Thanks! It’s ended up holding makeup brushes instead of a candle for now though haha! Do you have any other amusement parks or water parks near you? You could always go to those in the meantime until you get to a Six Flags! 😀

    • I already got one visit in for August and hopefully there’s a few more! Yeah, we’re close to this couple as they were the first clients and I do try to help out as much as I can.
Awwwww you’re so sweet to say you love my selfies! I’m always so self conscious of them! There’s another library craft tomorrow and I’m not off the wait list but I think I’ll try to go!
