My Summer Makeup Routine!

Hi everyone! I’m back with my summer makeup routine! Last week I made the decision not to blog because I had so much homework due over the weekend for my summer class and therefore decided to take the time to focus on that. I had to read a 200 page book, plus 150 pages of the text book, and write 3 papers which were 2-4 pages each plus one that was 3-5. So with all of that, I just took the week off!

Class doesn’t meet again until next month so the work will be much more spread out now. In order to make it up to you I’m thinking of maybe doing two tags this week? What do you think?

As for today, I’m going to share my current summer makeup routine! I thought that would be a fun, quick post for today to get back into the swing of things.

My summer routine is pretty simple, as I tend to sleep as long as possible in the mornings and then rush out the door to beat the morning traffic.

The first item I use is technically skin care but I wanted to include it because it’s summer! I start with the Coola Classic Sunscreen Moisturizer. It has SPF50, and since we try to have lunch outside as much as possible I make sure to always put it on.

Next, I use the Hourglass Primer Veil which is a sample I received from a Sephora Play Box. It’s actually not my favorite as I feel it’s very dewy and doesn’t exactly match my skin type but I’m trying to use it up and I don’t actually have a primer right now besides my samples from boxes.

For foundation I use the Maybelline FitMe Foundation in 222. It’s such a lightweight formula that it’s perfect for summer! It’s been a longtime favorite and I pretty much can’t live without it!

If I still need some extra coverage I use the Maybelline FitMe Concealer in 25. And generally I do need the extra help.

After that’s done I move onto mascara and use the NYX Worth The Hype Mascara which is my new favorite drugstore mascara. I feel that it looks great and doesn’t clump as so many do with me.

For brows I use the Benefit Goof Proof Eye Brow Pencil in 6. It’s really fast and easy to use so it’s perfect!

It occurs to me that I forgot two other face items… Clearly I’m out of practice! Not pictured are the FitMe Face Powder and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I’ve also talked about both of these before and they’ve been favorites for forever. The UD spray has been a favorite since even before I started my blog!

For lips I start with the Sephora Honey Lip Scrub as a balm. After that’s settled I use the Jabibe lipgloss I bought in Mexico. I have no idea what shade it is but it’s a great nude color!

And lastly, I wanted to include my current perfume here too. I’m using the Burberry My Burberry sample that I received in a Sephora Play Box awhile ago. It’s nearly out so I’m sad about that but I’m really enjoying it so far!

  1. I haven’t tried any of the Benefit products, but i always love the names they give them haha! Also good on you for putting on sunscreen, I was always the worst at remembering that in summer ๐Ÿ™ˆ

  2. That’s a lot of fucking homework, good gracious. Although I must say, I sometimes miss being forced to write papers because then it forces me to stretch my mind. Your brain is super pumped right now. While I rarely wear foundation, I do have FitMe. It always looks really dense compared to my BB cream, but I apply it thinly with a brush and it feels fine and has great coverage. Also, the people at Burberry really know what they’re doing in the scent department.

  3. I noticed you were missing last week! We missed you! โ™ก Two tags this week sounds good to me! Hehe.

I think I’ve told you this already but, I’m so jealous that Sephora Honey lip scrub works for you! & also interesting that you put your foundation on before concealer, I do the opposite!
