If you don’t know, FabFitFun is a quarterly lifestyle subscription box. If you click the following link you’ll get $10 off your first box and I believe I get money towards add-ons so we both benefit! FabFitFun To my knowledge everyone who gets the box also gets a code like that so don’t think I’m sponsored. I’m definitely not!
Also I’m sorry that there was no Tag Me Tuesday yesterday. I have a sore throat so I chose to do just one post and wanted to write this to get my box up today rather than push it back.
Okay, onto the box!
A change this month was the newsletter. It is now printed on glossy paper and has more pages I think, or maybe the paper is thicker and so it feels like more. It also has special offers at the end for the brands included in the box, such as if you spend a certain amount with them you get a certain amount off.
This box was also highly customizable so I’m glad I upgraded as otherwise you get a random item. There were two items you could pick if you have a month-to-month member and three additional choices if you have an annual membership. Then you also get three items that everyone gets, plus the straw. The value of the box could vary from $321.99 to $367.99 depending on the choices, which isn’t bad since the boxes are $49.99 per box!
Before I go on with the box items, I wanted to talk about the charity for the box. Each month features a different charity and this time an item came with it! This month the charity the box is supporting is the Wildlife Conservation Society. The box came with a paper straw to use instead of plastic but I believe if you donated before the boxes were shipped out to the society then you got a metal straw (it does say that donating via giveasip.us will also get you the metal straw).
So the first item was a choice item. There was a choice of either a make up bag or a beach towel. With both of those choices you got to pick the pattern on it. I picked the towel although I did regret it later when I saw the train case came with a voucher for the add-ons (although that may only be for those people who get their boxes super early as they’re sponsored by FabFitFun and therefore get no choices on their items). The towel I picked was “palms” although there was also a pineapple option. I did open the towel up and it’s very soft and feels so nice. The point of the towel is that the sand won’t stick to it at all so I’ll try to test it this summer. This was a Summer & Rose Beach Towel that retails for $55.
The next item was also a choice item but only for annual members. If you weren’t an annual member then you got a random one. Both of the items were Tarte palettes. I selected the Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette. THe other option was an eye palette but i have so many of those. When I first opened it up I thought it was smashed as I saw some glittery powder on the front but I opened it up and it looks perfect so I’m not sure where that came from. It’s beautiful and smells heavenly! This item retails for $45.
The next was also an annual member choice item. I picked the ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel. I have to say, I wasn’t overly excited about this item but the only other item was a hair treatment spray that I didn’t think I’d have use for. I have heard good things about ELEMIS so I figured this was a good time to try it. It does retail for $45.
The next item was an annual select choice item. This time though, it was between three items. I don’t recall seeing this before, it’s usually just two. So I picked a Minor History Post Script Wallet which is made of vegan leather. I’ve already used this and it’s quite tiny but very useful because of it. It’s actually the wallet I took to Taylor Swift because it was so small and we weren’t allowed bags. It fit my card, driver’s license, and a few bills easily, but I doubt it could fit much more. However it’s really cute! The other options were a cleanser that I have a sample of but haven’t tried and a resistance band. I wasn’t interested in either of those so the wallet won. This was before my handbag clear out so let me tell you, if it had been after I probably would have picked the cleanser even though I’m not sure if I like it but I’m happy I got it anyway. The wallet does retail for $20.
The last choice item was for everyone but it was also a three item choice. I picked the Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel. I was having back pain at the time, which lead to my decision but I likely would have picked it anyway. The other options were a ring and a body treatment. I actually added the ERTH TU Y Yo Ring to my box, which I’m really excited about. I don’t have a ton of jewelry so I am happy when the boxes include cute pieces. So another aspect of the box is that if you want more than one of the choices you can add it for $10, pending availability. The ring did retail for $55. The gel retails for $39. I’ll only include the gel in my total below as it was included in the box and the ring was an add-on.
The last three items were items everyone received and were not optional. Which isn’t the worst because then they’re a surprise! The first of these items was especially exciting for on social media as it’s a box exclusive right now. It is the FOREO Luna fofo, which is an electronic cleansing item. Apparently it’s not on sale yet! The only reason I haven’t tried it is because I’ve seen online that many people are having a lot of problems connecting it to the app. There were many colors for it but the color was randomized for everyone. I ended up with a beautiful teal blue! The fofo will retail for $89.
Next is the COOLA Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer. This is a perfect summer box item, of course! I was excited to see this as I use SPF moisturizers all the time in the summer. This item retails for $32.
And the last item is a Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish. I love the marble and think it’s really cute but as others pointed out online, we recently got a jewelry dish in a previous box. It’s still really cute but I still think that we could have done with something else. The dish does retail for $14.99.
In total my box was worth $339.99. This is fairly in the middle of the value range the box could be at, and I’m happy with all my choices anyway!
Oh, and I still have my add-ons. Every season you also get the option to add additional items onto your box from their site, which are discounted. I have to say, this is the first time I did the add-ons, Unfortunately I forgot to jot down what the original retail price was for each one of these but I added two items (I had more but ultimately removed them from my cart to keep the overall cost down). I added a Maji Sports Foot Massager which I almost bought last season. It cost me $5, and I think it was a great investment. This one wasn’t that discounted, I want to say it was originally around $20. I also added a Slip Pure Silk Pillowcase for $39. Originally I think it was around $89. I have wanted a silk pillowcase for awhile but they are expensive so I hadn’t purchased one yet. I can’t wait to try it out!
So let me know what you thought of this box! Did you get your own box yet if you’re a subscriber? Let me know!
