Tag Me Tuesday – Reading Habits Book Tag! #BirthMay Day 22

Hi everyone! For today’s Tag Me Tuesday I’m doing the Reading Habits Book Tag! I wasn’t specifically tagged for this but I saw Liz from Dear Blog,… Love, Liz do it and I had to join in.

I normally do tags that I was tagged in first before doing others that I find around blogs but I couldn’t wait to do this one!

Now, I know I haven’t been reading that much lately, but I do love to read. I just haven’t been able to read for fun because of school.

Okay, so onto the tag!

  1. Bookmarks or random pieces of paper?
Usually random pieces of paper. My library (like Liz’s library) gives me a slip of paper that seems to be meant to be a temporary bookmark as it’s the perfect size and it contains due dates and such for the items I check out. Last time I went to Mexico though my cousin gave me a bookmark and I’d like to use that for my next book. It says “Haz que la vida valga la pena”. Translated into English it means something along the lines of “make sure that you make your life worth living”.
  2. Stop reading randomly or after a chapter/certain amount of pages?
After the chapter! I can’t stop at a random spot, I need to stop at the end of a chapter so I know exactly where to start next time without having to take time to figure it out.
  3. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Preferably my bed although my sister’s bed is also pretty comfy.
  4. Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
No, I concentrate way too much on what I’m reading so even if I try to make tea to drink while reading I forget about it. By the time I remember is’t super cold so it doesn’t work out.
  5. Multitasking: music or TV when reading?
Just like the tea, I can try to have music or the tv going but ultimately I’ll focus on the book and won’t even notice.
  6. One book at a time or several?
Several but usually only actively trying to finish one. The rest I’ll pick up randomly.
  7. Reading at home or everywhere?
At home. The world is too chaotic and I’m to paranoid to read outside the home.
  8. Reading out loud or silently?
Silently! I trip over my words if I try to read aloud and I have bad memories from being forced to read aloud in class as a child. I was painfully shy, have a soft voice, and was petrified of public speaking so it was not a good combination and still quite traumatic apparently.
  9. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I prefer to keep my books looking as new as possible. If it’s a hardcover I even take the jacket off the book while reading it so I won’t accidentally hurt it.
  10. Do you write in your books?
No, not at all although some books I feel like I probably should at least add a post-it in case there’s something I want to come back to. I’m really bad at remembering quotes so that would be useful to remember which ones I enjoyed the most.

And that’s the Reading Habits Book Tag! I don’t think I’ve done a book tag in awhile so that was fun. If you want to do this tag, please feel free. And don’t forget to let me know!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I can’t understand eating while reading – how can someone concentrate over their own chewing?! I used to read in public all of the time but something has happened to society, people will just start yakking at you when you’re trying to read!! Fun tag, loved you’re responses!
