My April Books & Entertainment!

Hi everyone! Loooooong time no chat! Today’s post is my April Books & Entertainment! So as you may remember I was in Houston last week for work and I was so busy that I just couldn’t get to writing my weekend post. Then I returned on Sunday but when I got home I felt the need to nap. That turned into a 12 hour nap!

Then on Monday I worked on homework all day so I didn’t have time to write my posts so all my weekly posts are now slightly delayed but I will show you my Houston OOTDs next week!

Books

Well in all honest I failed quite miserably at this one. I just didn’t prioritize reading as I’m officially in a bit of a slump right now. I’m hoping to turn this around in May because of how many books I need to read that are coming out or recently came out. Or that have caught my interest again!

Entertainment

I did quite a bit with this one. So I started the morning with the second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events. The first series left right at the beginning of my favorite book in the series, “The Austere Academy” and I loved the Quagmire Triplets, Carmelita, and the rest of the usual crew. We followed the Baudelaire Orphans to the boarding school until they left the carnival and the story is really gearing up. I can’t wait for season 3!

Other than that I also enjoyed Shark Tank which I watched for the first time on the tv in my hotel room in Houston. I love it! I am studying business so seeing how people have created a great business and worked hard for it. I wish I could still watch it but I never watch tv at home so maybe I can stream it somehow?

I want to give a quick shout out to the amazing event that I went to, FIRST Championship! FIRST has two Championship events for students who build robots on teams and compete with each other in either Houston or Detroit. I went to the Houston event last week and this week is the Detroit event. If you want to watch some of the competition check out the live stream for the event!

Youtube

As for the YouTube favorites I have, I’m going to admit I have not kept up with it as much as usual because of the travel and stuff but here’s my three favorites for the month – in no particular order!

One is the series “Maricraft” from Smosh Games. I have really loved watching the group explore and try to stay alive for more than two minutes at a time.

Next is Marz Plays, where Marz plays video games! I’ve been watching her play Far Cry 5, which looks amazing! She is playing much faster than I can watch so I’m hoping to catch up soon.

And the last channel I’ve been enjoying is Phil and Alex. One of their videos was recommended so I clicked on it out of curiosity and was quickly pulled in. They are two lovely people who have adopted two daughters. Recently Alex lost her sister and miscarried twins so I’ve started watching their journey at a very sad time although I do want to continue watching them for a bit as their strength is very inspirational.

Music

So my new favorite song on Taylor Swift’s Reputation album is “This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” although I’m not sure that’s new necessarily. But I have been listening to it non stop for the past few days so I’m leaving it in.

I also had the CDs to the musical Love Never Dies in my car for awhile but the library demanded them back after I kept them for maybe three renewals. The nerve! (LOL.)

And I think that’s it! So let me know what you’ve been enjoying lately. I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Life can get pretty busy at times haha! It’s nice to hear from you! 😀 In terms of TV, I’ve been addicted to watching The Amazing Race. I love all the challenges and seeing which places they’ll go to 😀

  2. Hi Pamela!!! Glad to hear you’ve made it home safely from your trip! & that the championship went well!
I’ve never read the Series of Unfortunate Events but I really want to watch the show, will I be able to follow along still??
& that’s so funny that the library didn’t let you renew the CD again hahah. It’s probably only because someone else wants it!

    • Hiiiiiii Hunida! I’ve missed chatting with you! I need to catch up on your blog this weekend so don’t freak out when you get a ton of likes and comments haha.
I think you’ll still be able to follow along. They’ve kept it pretty true to the books so the story still flows and connects where it should, it’s not like they’re skipping anything at all! In fact, they added in stuff that’s just perfect and make the story better.
And I don’t know if that is why (it could be!) but usually once you reach 3 renewals they demand it back anyway! I miss the cds so much!
