5 Things I Hate Doing But Have To Do Anyway!

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to share with you 5 things that I really hate to do but usually have to do anyway! I am just in a complain-y mood and plus my Sephora Play Box isn’t here yet when I’m writing this (Tuesday night, I voted today!) so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a type of post that I don’t do often!

Anyway, we all have those things that we absolutely have to do even though we hate to do them. So I thought I’d pick 5 that come into my head first and share those. I already have the first one ready to go so let’s get started!

  1. Talk on the phone
I hate this so, so much. I’d rather start an online chat or send an email than call someone but due to the nature of my job, I’m on the phone a lot. I used to work in a call center actually and before that I was in retail sales so I would have to answer the phone to help customers in both. My last role involved taking supervisor calls or calling customers who needed special handling and now I work closely with clients and therefore am on the phone for meetings quite often. Plus I help my dad with his business so I need to take those calls as well. Even though I do it often and am now used to being on the phone a lot, I still hate it! On that note I never answer the home phone though as those are just robo calls usually.
  2. Budgeting
I’ve never had a budget but now I really want to travel more. So I really need to get over my budget hatred and actually create one and stick to it! Unfortunately, this is pretty low on my to-do list right now, so I should get on moving that upwards.
  3. Being wrong
I am such a perfectionist at heart so I absolutely hate being wrong. Even if I am wrong I will rarely admit it. Because I actually hate admitting it more than I hate being wrong.
  4. Suburban Life
Okay I don’t hate this that much but it’s more annoying than anything else. I want to go to so many events and places in the city but sometimes it’s just not convenient. I’ve missed many events that take place during the week either during the day or at night. I live an hour and a half train ride away from the city so I really wish I lived in Chicago so I could go to more events and wouldn’t have to stress so much about how to get somewhere.
  5. Slow Internet
I mean, is there anything more irksome than a video that seems to lag just to spite you? I don’t think so! And usually the internet is slow when I need to look something up really quickly, such as directions or something. So aggravating! You would think that the internet would figure out a way to be lightening fast all the time but maybe I just feel too entitled towards having a reliable connection now.

So those are my 5 things! Phew, I feel better now, so thanks for letting me complain. Maybe I should do 5 things I love doing but don’t get to do often enough to make up for it. Anyway, let me know something you hate to do but have to do anyway in the comments. I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I don’t like talking on the phone. I would rather text or email than talk on the phone. I feel like I will freeze up when I call and someone answers. Talking on the phone scares me a lot but still have to do

  2. I hate talking on the phone if it’s not with my boyfriend or family, but I’ve got used to making calls at work. I still hate scheduling appointments over the phone for myself or calling anywhere to order stuff haha

  3. We have a lot in common! I absolutely loathe talking on the phone! I have social anxiety, so I just hate when I have to call for an appointment or something. Most people that know me well, know not to call me lol.

    • I much prefer to not write a post than to force myself to write something I wouldn’t want to read. I do prefer honesty over anything else! I’m glad you enjoyed this post so much 😀

  4. Gosh!! I hate talking on the phone, too. If another person can do the same thing but has an online scheduling system, I’m choosing the one I didn’t have to call. 😛 haha. I hate budgeting too! I don’t even know how! 😣
I’d love to read a list of the the things you love bug don’t get to do often enough. 🙂

    • I think my top destinations right now are New Orleans and Lisbon but I’m open to all places! Also you might be onto something haha, people do tend to be nicer on the phone for sure.
