If We Were Having Coffee March 2018

Hi everyone! We’re back for some more coffee chat!

I love doing these posts so I’m thrilled to write this today. I feel like I’m finally back in the swing of things!

So today I’m having a different drink actually. It’s called avena and it’s a sort of oatmeal like drink. My mom makes it occasionally and it’s delicious.


Here we go!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you all about how I just watched Coco again today (which I previously reviewed) but this time in Spanish and it was EVEN BETTER. Highly recommend. That movie is just beautiful and it was more seamless and natural in Spanish for sure.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how much I love being a student again but also how hard it is turning out to be with a full time job. I’ve never had to work while in school before so it was a longer adjustment period than I expected and while I know it’ll be worth it in the end, it is tough. Luckily I’ve been able to use vacation days to get extra time to get stuff done at home and do homework!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how wonderful it was to go to Mexico last month. I think it was a great way to start the year and I hope that 2018 has much more travel in store for me.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am that Camilla Cabello is opening for Taylor Swift’s Reputation tour! If you remember, I managed to get tickets for the Chicago show a few months ago. When I got obsessed with Havana by Camilla I saw that she was having a Chicago concert too but it was the day I may be flying back from Houston for a work trip. I also didn’t win tickets when I tried to win them through a radio show for the concert anyway (since it’s sold out) so I thought it wasn’t going to happen this year. But now they’re touring together! Now I’m just waiting to hear from my bff Erin to see if she can fly back from AZ to go with me otherwise I need to find someone that can go!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that luckily my back pain from yesterday has greatly subsided. My back feels much better today. I lay down on the floor a lot last night and then actually slept on the floor as my bed is pretty hard but it wasn’t enough for the pain I was in. I also did use a heating pad and used a muscle roller stick that I got in my new FabFitFun box (slight spoiler for Monday’s post!) so I think that really helped. I might sleep on the floor again today though. It’s still slightly achy!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I’m at a loss of what to do with a wall in my home office. I want to get some sort of art to put there but art is quite expensive. I’ve looked around TJ Maxx for something cheaper but what I’ve found hasn’t really impressed me and the only one I did like was blue but I’m going for a light pink theme. My sister was looking for a tapestry which would be nice or I was thinking of getting prints of photos I’ve taken and getting one of those large photo frames with spaces for many pictures. For now, I’ll leave it until I find something I really like.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how much I really love living at home but how much I do wish I could live on my own. If I moved out I’d likely move to the city where I could do so much stuff, but at the same time when one of my car headlights is out my dad replaces it the next day. Sooooo, I think I’ll stay put a little bit longer.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am now that spring is closer. I love spring. It’s my favorite of all the seasons and I have so many outfits I have planned. Oooo! I should do an OOTD post! Also, there is an REI store that is going to open near my work in the spring and I have always wanted to go to one so I’m excited to finally see one. They’ve also cut business with a company that refuses to back gun control so that’s something I can support. Another store I really want to go to someday is IKEA but I’ve never actually gone. The closest ones are about an hour and a half away from me so that hasn’t happened yet. I’m also looking forward to running again and maybe doing some yoga. Actually, yoga will probably help. I have no idea what really caused my back pain but I think it’s how much I sit so I need to be more active!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I finally got my YouTube Watch Later list to a reasonable number. I have 33 videos currently waiting for me, down from over 700 before the winter break! I didn’t watch all of them actually, I did remove a ton that I honestly was just not that interested in. The ones still there are ones that I want to pay special attention to rather than play in the background when doing something else.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I’m heading to school tomorrow for a workshop on Excel! I’m such a nerd. My professor is an Excel wizard and he hosts four workshops for the MBA students which are amazing learning opportunities. This is the third workshop and I think it’ll be tougher but still fun!
