My February Life!

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already March! Time for me to recap my entire month for you. So I actually think February is my least favorite month of the entire year. It’s also thankfully the shortest.

I’m just going to get into it though because my back is quite achy today and I’m really looking forward to being horizontal rather than the chair I’m currently occupying. I have a heating pack so that’s helping somewhat though.

Shedd Aquarium

The same day I saw the play The Humans I also went to the Shedd Aquarium on the Museum Campus in Chicago. My sister was able to get tickets through her work so we spent the afternoon at the Shedd. Beluga whales are my most favorite animal because I think they’re so intelligent and cute. I think dolphins are evil but they were quite impressive. We did walk around a lot before the aquatic show and then after as well. I probably hadn’t been at the Shedd for around two years so while a lot of the exhibits are permanent and the same as I remember it was nice to see them again and learn more about them. I can’t wait to go back sometime as I want to do a behind the scenes tour. Photos aren’t allowed on that tour but I’ll probably still tell you all about it when I do it someday!

Mexico

I know I’ve already talked so much about Mexico so I’ll try to keep this short. I got to go to Mexico to see my family for a few days earlier this month and I loved it! It’s so nice to spend time with them as I don’t see them often. My sister and I flew down to join my mom who was already there and then we spent a few days in Morelia, a few in Mexico City, and then headed home again to the icy artic, I mean, Chicago. My uncle’s brother had offered him his Acapulco timeshare about halfway through the trip but we were there for so few days that we would only have gotten a little under 24 hours in Acapulco before we would have to head back to catch our flights. Ah well, maybe next time! If you want to see more on my trip, feel free to follow the links below.

I still need to do a post on the things I brought back from Mexico and my suitcase is still in my home office instead of the basement so you know, I’m still wishing I was there! Luckily we were able to see a ton of family, visit a lot of great museums and sights, and had a happy, safe trip. I did get a slight cold so between that and my back (I think from a combination of the travel and sitting so much as it has been sore since the plane) I clearly haven’t had the best month health wise but they’re such small things compared to what others experience that I’m not going to complain. Plus I’m sure that it’ll be fine with a bit of stretching and maybe a chiropractor that is supposedly covered by my slightly above average health insurance!

Chicago Cultural Center

As I like to do, I went to the Chicago Cultural Center before a musical, this time Love Never Dies. This time my mom went with me as I normally go alone but a friend had wanted to go to this musical with me and ended up having a project due (she’s also in graduate school) so she had to drop out. My mom loved the musical so it all worked out! (So did I of course!) I really like this building as it’s full of art exhibits that constantly change and are always amazing. The architecture in this building is also breathtaking and I can’t believe more people don’t wander in. I for one am very happy I did a few months back when trying to escape the scorching heat last summer.

And that’s my February! Plenty of highs and some lows but you know, overall not a bad month! What did you get up to in February? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
