Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my Dr. Brandt VoxBox! I received this box of items free from Influenster for review purposes. I was surprised to get another box so soon after my last one! (I’m also selected for two virtual boxes but I haven’t participated in those as that’s just too many things at once!)
I was so surprised at how many items were in the box as well. A ton of them are samples, but the two main items are full sized and those are the ones I focused on testing.
So the first main item is the Detoxifying Antioxidant Water Booster. You add about 1ml to your water everyday and it claims to provide the equivalent of 15 cups of green tea of anti-oxidants. Check out this fun little “what I ate today” vlog featuring the Water Booster!
So I had some help testing this product out. I told my friend Erin about it who was immediately intrigued and when my friends Christina and John at the office saw it I offered to let them try it. (Erin’s the one who moved to Arizona so she couldn’t try it otherwise she totally would have.) Here’s their thoughts:
- Christina – tasted horrible, not worth it, glad I got it for free and didn’t spend money on it, says it probably does nothing, overall not impressed at all and pretty much hates it
- John – says it made him pee a lot, but then he said that he drinks a lot of water anyway (he does), and that it wasn’t a good taste but it wasn’t bad either – just sort of in the middle
Although Christina put about three droppers into maybe 16 fluid ounces and John put about one dropper into about 32 fluid ounces so they’re not a stable sample size.
As for myself, I am torn between the two previous options. I agree with Christina that I don’t feel like it actually has a real effect on me. Although I did use it for a few days before going to Mexico and then didn’t use it while I was away. I’ve gone back to it since coming back home and now I’m used to adding it to my water. I have felt more energetic, but that may be because I’m prioritizing sleep lately. I’ve also felt that my stomach hasn’t hurt as much but I’m also trying not to eat food that normally bothers my stomach. It does claim to give energy too and I feel like it does a bit. But I agree with John about the taste. It’s not great but it’s not like it’s repulsive either. I don’t think I’ll purchase this for myself but it has been fun to try!
The next full sized product and second main product is the Hydro Biotic Sleeping Mask. You put it on before bed to hydrate your skin and don’t wash it off. I love sleeping masks because I’m so lazy and don’t do masks sometimes because then I have to wash it off. (LOL.) I have to say, I do really like this product. I keep most of my skin care in the bathroom but this one I leave next to my bed to remember to put it on. I’ve been moisturizing like crazy lately as that’s what’s been helping me fight breakouts.
I love how smooth this makes my skin and how healthy it makes it feel! I don’t know if I would purchase this, it would likely depend on price but I’m enjoying it right now and don’t want it to run out anytime soon!
The rest of the box was full of sample sized items from Dr. Brandt. There are are six more items which is so different than the past two boxes I’ve received. The first box was the Sparkle VoxBox which was had about ten full sized items to try. The second was the L’Oreal Elvive VoxBox which had one full sized item.
One of the larger sample items was the Magnetight Age-Defier Skin Recharging Magnet Mask which I was so excited to try! I actually really did like it because it was so fun and felt great afterwards. Basically you put on the mask with the spatula that comes with it and let it sit. Then you cover the magnet that’s included with the mask with a tissue that you supply yourself and use the magnet to take the mask off. I really liked it although it can get messy. It stays in the tissue for the most part after you remove the magnet but if you accidentally touch it then the mask goes everywhere again and you need to use the magnet again to clean it up. Also when I was taking off the tissue it ripped a bit and now there’s some mask permanently on the magnet. Whoops. It did leave my skin feeling great though. I likely wouldn’t purchase this as it does seem unnecessary even if I did like it.
The next item I tried was the Pores No More Luminizer Primer samples. I didn’t really like this one. I felt that the primer was so incredibly thick and I prefer lighter primers. I used it all over my face but I didn’t think it really did anything for my pores around my nose, which is where I need it to work the most. It is a great product to smooth out the skin tone. However, this was a pass for me.
A product I haven’t used as much but really want to is the Needles No More 3-D Volumizing Mask. It’s meant to be put on frown lines or wrinkles and it claims to fill them in. I’ve used it only a couple times so I’m not seeing too many results, also I don’t really need this yet, but I am getting frown lines so I’m going to keep using it.
Another product is the Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator. I don’t use exfoliator often as I have somewhat sensitive skin so I have yet to try this product.
The next two products go hand in hand. The first is the Power Dose C Age FIghter Vitamin for Skin. The second is the Needles No More Face Cream. The Power Dose C is a sort of serum that is mixed in with the face cream. I don’t care much for the smell and I feel that it is very similar to all the other serums I’ve tried so while I’m enjoying it, I probably won’t purchase it on my own.
And that’s all the products in the box! Overall I think it was a good box in terms of the range of products, and it was very fun and exciting to try them.
So let me know if you’ve tried any of the Dr. Brandt items above and your thoughts. I’d love to know!
