If We Were Having Coffee – February 2018

Hi everyone! Oh geez, I started this post yesterday and totally forgot I was writing it!

I was busy getting stuff together so I could work on homework today and got distracted! But that’s done now and I’m ready to get back to this post!

So if we were having coffee I would have another chai tea latte per usual. You know that’s my favorite! I’d get it hot today and it’s pretty chilly and we’re meeting in downtown Chicago today.

So let’s get chatting!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I have felt sluggish this past week. I feel like I can’t get anything done! I have so much to do at work, for my blog, and school that I often don’t know where to begin. But I’m slowly catching up and hopefully I can get a lot done today! If Blackboard can come back up soon…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am to be going to Mexico. I can’t wait to see some family and eat a ton of tacos.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how amazing friends of mine have been lately. When I reach out they’re always happy to hear from me, even if it’s been awhile. It’s so awesome!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how much I appreciate the go getter attitudes of the people around me. It’s so inspiring. Everyone from my family to my colleagues at school and work to my blogger friends like one amazing lady who recently gave stand up a go are just so eager to try and to learn and to experience life.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I am scaling back my musicals hobby. I’m still going to see the shows I really want to see but on the whole I’m thinking I need to put my money towards travel for a bit. There’s just so much of the world to see!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that although I really like the suburbs I really want to live in the city. It’s free to go to the Field Museum this month and I can’t get to it because all but one of my weekends are already busy! Even though I’m going to be downtown for two of them I already have stuff planned!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I’m putting together my Chicago bucket list and making plans to get some of the items done already. I mentioned this before but I want to try living somewhere else besides Chicago for a bit after graduation. Therefore I am making a bucket list of things I want to do in and around Chicago before I go! I need to put more time into it though. It’s nowhere near finished!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I want to learn a new sport. I told my coworker who is also a volleyball coach that I wanted her to teach me when it’s nice out for our lunch break. She said she would but then I remembered I’m short and volleyball players are usually tall. But it should still be fun, right?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am to see some belugas today. My sister got me a ticket to go to the Shedd Aquarium today with her after the play I’m going to see (The Humans) and belugas are my favorite animals EVER.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I can’t wait to see everything February has to offer! Its actually my least favorite month but I think it’s still shaping up to be a good one!

So, what would you tell me if we were having coffee?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hold on to that wonderful feeling of family and tacos coming together 🙂 I have immense admiration for Lyz for I have been struggling of late. Anyway, February is a short month so you know we can tide it over even if it does not look overly bright at times. xx

  2. Pamela, thanks for the honorable mention 🙂 So, it’s the weekend so I’ll have a coffee with sugar and vanilla almond milk (which sucks because it’s more like adding water than cream, but whatever!). Let’s get to it:

I used to play volleyball every week with my friends and it’s one of my favorite sports. I even coached volleyball last year, which was awesome. I’m 5 foot even, so height is nothing for you to worry about . You’re going to love it! Also, creating a bucket list for your own hometown is such a great idea. I think most of us don’t take full advantage of the interesting places where we live. That should be a movement: Hometown Bucket List.

    • I would have mentioned you by name but when I was writing it I wasn’t sure if that was something you were going to share on your blog haha!
I’m glad there’s hope for me yet in volleyball. I feel like it’s something I would enjoy if I could get good enough for it! Ah I love that name. Hometown Bucket List! I think a collab between us and our fellow cool ladies is in order for this! 😀

      • Ah, that was considerate of you. I appreciate the thought. Hometown Bucket List is a good name, isn’t it? It definitely gives me something to think about. I’m down. Let’s chat about that collab. 🙂

  3. Shedd is amazing! 😀 I went there when I visited Chicago a few years ago 🙂 I love belugas too. I know now its really controversial in my career path but I loved seeing the belugas and I did one of the beluga encounters when I was there. But I hope you enjoy it there 🙂
