Hi everyone! I finally got my Sephora Play Box for December! I feel like I normally get it really fast once it ships but it took about a week and a half before I got it after getting the notification that it was sent. But I was impressed by this box so I’m okay with that!
Oh, guess who gets to work from home tomorrow? Me! I really didn’t want go to the office tomorrow because it’s always a ghost town the day before holiday closure. Then my boss came by asking who was going to be working in the office tomorrow and I said I was working from home, worried he’d say something about that, and he said “oh I don’t care if you are or not, I’m just seeing who’s here. Do what you want!” so it all worked out!
This worked out even better because it’s supposed to snow a ton tomorrow or something. Yay! But quite honestly I didn’t even know that, I just had a past few weeks and am so ready for the break. I’m starting as early as possible!
Oh but it was quite sad taking down my Christmas/New Year’s decorations today at my desk. I had a light up disco ball garland that I put up yesterday thinking I’d get at least three days use out of it but I did not. It was only $3 and I’m planning to put it up somewhere in the house before Christmas. There’s also a New Year’s banner that I didn’t get a chance to put up. But I did put up my 2018 calendar before leaving. I brought my 2017 one back home and I’m going to take it apart and save the photos since they’re quite cute and I can put them in a frame and swap them out.
Okay, and onto the box! This month’s theme is “glam straight” so I think it’s mostly a glitzy New Year’s kind of thing. The brochure itself gives a ton of stats on the box such as how many insta posts of the boxes there were and so on. I think the bag is very “Gatsby” and I think it’s fun! I never use these bags though but it is cute.
So the first item I got was a Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo in Golden Hour. I thought it’s so cute and tiny! The colors are like a plum and a rosey pink so I do like them. I don’t think I own any Smashbox eye shadows so I’m excited to try them!
Next is the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouuge Lipstick in Rose Wood. It’s a sort of pink nude although the box looks like it’s a red. I think this color will work great for me and it’s just the sort of shade I love!
The Bumble and Bumble Thickening Volume Hairspray is probably something I won’t use anytime soon. I don’t use hairspray often and I haven’t had much luck with Bumble and Bumble products.
The item I am really excited to try is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Despite the scandalous name, it’s supposed to be a great mascara and I love trying different ones. I haven’t tried this one at all yet so I can’t wait!
Next is the IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream. That’s quite a name! It’s meant to be hydrating so once I use up my current sample of another moisturizer I will probably try this one.
And the bonus for the month is the Dior Miss Dior – The New Eau de Parfum. I’m not a huge fan of the perfume samples anymore but I’m willing to try it. I just sprayed it on and it’s not my favorite but it’s not so bad either. I think it’s a little heavy for me.
Overall I think it’s a good box and I’m glad I got so many interesting products! Is it just me or do the boxes lately seem to be stepping up their game? I’m thinking its likely because of the holidays but they are great lately!
So let me know what you got in your Play box if you got one this month! If not, have you already tried any of these items and, if so, what did you think?
Thanks for reading!
