Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since we’ve had a Thursday edition of Tag Me Tuesday so here’s one for you! I’m doing A Christmas Tag! I saw this tag on Stella’s blog, Simply Stella, and you know how much I love tags and Christmas and Stella and her blog so put them all together and you get Tag Me Thursday!
I was going to do this tag next week but I got too impatient so here it is!
What is your favorite Christmas film?
Do all the Harry Potter movies count? There’s a Christmas in all of them so I’m going to count them.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes, alllllllll the time. Probably most of them actually!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
On the couch watching all 8 Harry Potter movies. Although we didn’t do that last year. So we might branch out again. My plan for a Disney Christmas vacay falls through EVERY YEAR.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Probably Do You Hear What I Hear? because I’ve loved it from the moment I first heard it! I’m aware it has religious ties and all that, well the entire holiday does, but I like it anyway!
Do you open Christmas presents on Christmas Eve?
No, not technically, as we do stay up until midnight every year to open them on Christmas Day. I think I’m going to put a stop to that tradition because I quite like my sleep at a reasonable hour.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Yup! You’ve got DASHERANDDANCERANDPRANCERANDVIXENCOMETANDCUPIDANDDONNERANDBLITZEN and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to?
I’m honestly more of a try new things kind of person so besides the potential of Harry Potter movies, we don’t really have any.
Is your Christmas Tree real or fake?
100% fake. I think real would just bring too much of a fire hazard for my nerves.
What is your all-time favorite holiday food?
Tamales!
Do you like giving or receiving gifts?
I am a master of giving gifts but GIMME SOME PRESENTS PEOPLE. #selfish
What is the best Christmas gift you have received?
I’d like to say a pony but as I’ve never gotten one despite 26 years of asking for one *glares at parents* I would say my American Girl doll. I got one quite late in life but I still loved it so much! I remember I got mad because I wanted to be at the counter with my mom while she bought the doll and the accessories I got to pick out because I wanted to see theĀ exact moment that the doll was mine but my dad made my sister and I walk away and look at something with him. Turns out my mom had managed to sneak additional items that we wanted so “Santa” could bring them for us and they didn’t want us to see what they were buying! My mom laughed when I told her this story because obviously it all makes sense now but tiny me didn’t understand! I still have my doll and all accessories actually.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holidays?
Disney World! And Harry Potter World (aka Universal Studios)! Or Hawaii. I wonder what a tropical Christmas is like.
Are you a pro-present wrapper?
You’re lucky if it comes in an actual Christmas bag with nice tissue paper instead of the bag from the store I got it from.
Most memorable holiday moment?
Besides the doll? Hmmmm I remember one year when my family and I went to my uncle’s house (we don’t talk to this particular uncle anymore but that’s a whole other story) and I wanted to ask my mom something but I couldn’t find either parent. It wasn’t a big house so I was so confused. Eventually I found them of course.
Anyway, before leaving for the party my sister and I put a trail of “reindeer food” out. When we got home we noticed it was all messy and then THERE WERE PRESENTS FROM SANTA UNDER THE TREE! (This is why we wait until midnight, because that was the rule at my uncle’s house and then we’d open Santa’s gifts when we got home from the party.)
Of course, they’d disappeared so that they could let Santa in the house.
Somehow this story makes me laugh when I look back!
What made you realize the truth about Santa?
My effing classmates! They told me and I was so distraught I told my sister what they were saying and we confronted our poor mother. How she still likes Christmas after all the stress we’ve ever put on her, I have no idea.
Do you make New Year’s resolutions?
No, but I make myself a goal every year for my birthday in May which I think is just another way I try to convince myself the world revolves around me.
What makes the holiday special for you?
It’s so nice to have time off to just enjoy the season, the decor, and festivities. Everyone is celebrating something and trying to be extra nice to each other. I love Christmas music so that makes me super happy, and of course Blogmas/Vlogmas! It’s just a wonderful time of the year all around!
And that’s A Christmas Tag! If you want to do this tag, you’ve got about ten days to get to it! Otherwise, pick a question and tell me your answer in the comments! I’d love to know!
Thanks for reading!
