If We Were Having Coffee – October 2017

Hi everyone! So I know it’s not quite October yet but this is just how the week turned out! It was finally cool today and it was amazing! I had to switch to a fleece sweater to stay warm and it was amazing! Fall, pleases stick around until Christmas at least!

In a fun turn of events, I’ve been drinking more coffee this month. I need it! So if we were having coffee I’d have a pumpkin spice chai tea latte because they’re amazing! Starbucks has started to offer them and it’s all I can do to stop myself from going every day to get one.

So here we go!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I decided I needed a day off, so I requested one. Now I have a day off coming up! Such a simple process.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you even more about school. I think I’ve finally calmed down and don’t talk about it allllll the time on the blog, at least that’s my perspective. I probably still talk about it quite a bit. Not going to lie, I had a turbulent transition to student life. I think I both overestimated and underestimated it at the same time somehow. I overestimated how much time it would take, I can get my work done fairly quickly if I set my mind to it. But underestimated how much motivation it would really take and how much lazier my brain has become. Oh geez, it’s an adventure every week!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I wore shoes to work today that I wore to the beach the other day and there was still definitely a lot of sand in them. Whoops!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I think I want to move somewhere in the next few years. Like, out of Illinois. My parents, well my dad specifically, keeps bringing up Arizona and my work bestie (her name is Erin) is moving there by the end of the year. I think the universe is telling me to move to Arizona! However of all the places, why Arizona?? It’s hot and there are many dangers such as drought (probably), fire (maybe?), and scorpions (for reals). But I would like for them to move to a large property so I can keep a horse there. Also there better be a pool!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I’m sooooo close to buying some Tom Ford sunglasses. I love sunglasses so my rationale would be that I’d be investing in a piece I’ll love. But what if they break or I lose them? That’d break my heart!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how much I miss ballet! I hope to be able to go back to it someday for sure.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that once I’m done with school I think I want to look for some theatre classes. Not to actually do it probably, but so I can understand more of what goes into putting together a production. I love theatre so much and I want to know more!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m kinda thinking I should have gone for a PhD instead of an MBA. Maybe I’ll go for that next! But for now, one thing at a time. Still, it’d be cool to have everyone call me “Doctor” wouldn’t it? I’d totally insist on it too just to annoy people! I wouldn’t even do it right with my last name, I’d just be Doctor Pamela if I had a PhD.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I really do need to work out. I’m really getting pudgy and I don’t like it! I’m thinking of either joining a gym or getting a personal trainer. I just don’t ever do it on my own.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask you, what would you tell me if we were having coffee?

So that’s my update for the month! I have quite a bit of homework to get to this weekend so expect that posts will be later in the day this week. I’ll be a hermit this weekend doing homework tomorrow and into Sunday if I need to, but I hope to write posts too. I’ll try to also catch up on everyone’s posts from this week! I have fallen so far behind. We’ll have to wait and see!

Thanks for reading!

  2. I really like the if we were having coffee posts :). pumpkin spiced chai tea is a combination of two of my favorite things. Doctor Pamela does have a nice ring to it. If we were having coffee I would talk about how well the training camp I joined is going, how much I look forward to volunteering with the kids at my church, how awesome my teachers are in grad school and the cool spots I’ve discovered in the new city I am in. Arizona looks so pretty but it’s too hot for me, it took me awhile to adjust to Texas heat lol.

  3. Arizona was on fire this summer but the rent out there is cheap and I love the desert heat 💗 that would be an exciting change! And making yourself workout is hard but you can do it! I do YouTube workouts which probably aren’t as great as a personal trainer but they’re at home so that helps me get me up easier!!

  4. Hey Pam, you are a student so of course you will talk about your student life. Let go. The blog is your space. Btw I think you should go get enrolled in theatre after. You never know where the journey takes you. It sounds bloody thrilling. And if you guy are moving to Arizona, I am thinking you would have a whole lot of natural beauty at your doorstep, eh? Along with the heat and the scorpions but that is part of the package I suppose. That was a fun coffee session and maybe, maybe, we girls get to do it in person someday. xx

  5. I love the “If we’re having coffee” posts! I feel you girl, I could always use a day off. I love the thought of a nice little 1-day staycation. Where in IL do you live? I used to live in Naperville, and loved it there. Granted I only lived there for a year and a half but still, I really liked it! I need to go back and visit. I’m having the urge to move too like baddd. I’m thinking Dallas, Texas 🙂

      • I vaguely remember specifics from the area, I don’t think I heard of Gurnee how far is it from Naperville?… buttt I loved Downtown Naperville like by the River Walk, oh gosh me and my friends would always walk there and rent a pedal boat. I also remember a Barnes and Nobles and Noodles and Company there (this was like over 10 years ago I was in 8th grade lol) I lived fairly close-ish to Naperville North Highschool… Is the Fox Valley Mall still there? I want to go back to Chicago and visit so bad and head that way again I miss it!

      • It’s pretty far actually! If I go to Naperville it takes like an hour and a half I think. I know I’ve been to the Barnes and Nobles there. I mostly just go to Anderson’s for book signings and such though. I don’t know much beside that store and a few other downtown ones! Hope you get to visit Chicago soon (before it gets cold)!

  6. This is my first time visiting your blog, and the first of your blog posts that I’ve viewed, but I had to make a comment on this one before viewing any more because I love this post! The idea behind it is so unique and interesting and I love how it gives your readers an inside view on your life at the moment. It’s almost as if we are actually friends and talking in real life!
I do ballet too, and I understand why you miss it. I took last year off, and now I can’t understand how I didn’t miss it terribly. I hope you’re able to return to it eventually!
I look forward to reading more of your posts!

    • Awwww how sweet of you!! Welcome! I love doing these posts just for that reason. I’m so glad you like it!
Ballet is so fun and I hope I can take a class again. It’s hard to find in my area but doable for sure! 😀
