My July Life!

Hi everyone! Another month has come and gone! It’s pretty much going to be New Years before we know it. At least that’s what the stores think!

I’ve been spending a lot of time at Michaels where they have everything out for Halloween and some stuff for Thanksgiving already so that could have something to do with it. I already have a project for October planned. No spoilers!!!

Anyway, this month has been fun. I’ve done quite a bit so here we go!

First, I went to Six Flags Great America over the Fourth of July weekend two days in a row! That’s the theme park closest to me and I have a season pass so we try to go a lot to get our money’s worth. It was really fun and I had a blast! We stayed for fireworks which was something I really wanted to do for the nation’s birthday! Then I’ve gone again twice since then to Hurricane  Harbor, the water park at Six Flags. It’s been a lot of fun and not as crowded as I remember. Turns out two of my high school friends work at the park, one as a performer and the other checks everyone’s seats at the rides so that was cool!

I’ve talked about my ballet classes in my Lively post so check that out if you haven’t already. I’ve been turning and leaping through life and it’s been a blast!

Oh, we were having crazy amounts of rain and storms in the area. It was so bad that I ended up turning around and going home one morning on the way to work. I had been on the road for an hour, wasn’t even halfway to work, and knew I wasn’t going to make it in a timely manner. Everything was flooded so all traffic was being diverted to the road I usually took. I texted my boss, got home in half an hour, and then worked from home. It sucks working so far away from home sometimes! Anyway, traffic remained bad for about a week and a half after that as the roads were flooded and more rain kept them inaccessible. Now everything is mostly dried out in my area but I know places have flooded and the inhabitants of the area will be drying out for awhile.

I saw two musicals this month. Both were through my Broadway in Chicago subscription. (Broadway in Chicago, sponsor me.) I saw Something Rotten and laughed the whole time! I did a full review on it if you want to check that out. I also saw An American in Paris. I had seen the movie and hadn’t liked it as much so I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy it. Turns out the musical was beautiful and amazing so no worries there! My mom ended up joining me at the last minute so we spent some time downtown and hung out until it started. Our seats were a little far away from each other but we made it work. Overall the musical was awesome! I’ll be doing a full review of it soon so keep an eye out for that! These two musicals are ones that I’ve wanted to see since I saw them perform at the Tony’s a few years back. I’m glad I was able to see them!

This month I was also accepted into graduate school! I turned in my application, did my interview, attended a reception, told you guys about it, registered for classes, applied for financial aid, and freaked out about how much it’s going to cost! It’s been a roller coaster of emotions. I’m planning to do a video on my application/acceptance experience and a few other school related things. I just don’t know when I’m doing them yet but they are planned!

I’ve also shared a day in my life when I work with my dad. That’s the main reason why I don’t do as many videos as I’d like for my YouTube channel. I hoped to be able to dedicate more time to it when the season ended but it’ll depend on my school work. We’ll see!

Oh! And I finally saw Wonder Woman! If you want a full review, let me know. I did like it, I thought it was a great superhero movie. I loved that it featured a female hero and it was so realistic. Overall I think it was groundbreaking in that regard. Female led and directed. At its core it is a superhero movie and it felt a lot like a Marvel film. It was very well done and incredible to see.

And that’s my month of July! Let me know what you’ve been up to, I’d love to hear all about it!

Thanks for reading!

  3. Ahhhh! I have been staying out of Michael’s for this very reason! The rain has been kinda’ crazy here too, it is nice to see everything so green but water can be so destructive 😦

    • Omg I need to stop going there. I literally buy something every time! Yes, so many homes and businesses were flooded in the areas surrounding me. It’s terrible although the geese enjoyed the little pond that formed.
