My 400 Followers Q and A!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my 400 Followers Q and A! I reached 400 back on Thursday and got quite a few Q’s from you to A!

Once again, thank you to everyone who’s hit the “follow” button and chosen to read along my journey. An extra big thank you if you’ve liked and commented along the way as well! You’re all amazing!

And a super duper special thank you to everyone who has given me a Q or two (or more but that doesn’t rhyme) so I can A today!

So I’m going to go through the questions in the order they were asked and include a link to each person’s blog and a bit about them!

Fun story before we go on, in my post I did say I hoped none of you were murderers. Well someone unfollowed after that post so I’m fairly confident that we’re a murderer free space now! That’s really the only thing I ask apparently. Lols.

I’m so excited! Here we go!

cassixmakeup asked: what is your favorite song lyrics?

Oh this is a tough one because I just have so many. I react strongly to music so that may be why. I’m going to go with a Hamilton lyric for this one, “There’s a million things I haven’t done, but just you wait!”

Cassi blogs about all things beauty and I loved her recent post on her favorite lippies! She also does a ton of awards and tags so if you’re nosy like me and like reading how everyone answers the questions posed to them, head on over to her blog!

My Blessing By Grace asked: if you could have any super power what would it be?

Oh I’d love to be able to have super powers like Charles Xavier from X-Men where he’s a telepath (can read minds) and telekenetic (can move stuff with his mind). Is that cheating since it’s technically two?

Grace blogs about beauty, food, and faith. I loved her recent beauty haul she did and all her food posts make my mouth water. She’s studying to become a pastry chef, so you know that she knows what she’s talking about when she talks about food!

Beautybyadutchgirl asked: which languages do you speak?

I’m a fluent Spanish and English speaker. My parents are both Mexican and immigrated to the USA so they taught me Spanish. I actually stopped speaking it as often when I started school so now I speak it with a very strong American accent, you’d never guess it was my first language! I’m American and live in the US so I learned the most common language here, which is English (fun fact, we don’t have an “official” language). I took a semester of French, Spanish, Arabic, and German in college (one semester each) and I know very little of Arabic, slightly more German, and a little more French. I did this to get a “multi-lingual” minor but I ended up not completing this to graduate a semester early.

Anne blogs a lot about beauty and also includes posts on her life (she’s a student). Her blog is actually new to me but so far I’ve loved her post about 10 cities she’s been to in Europe. I’m so excited to read more from Anne!

Dreaming Of Guatemala asked: A LOT OF Q’S!

If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?

So I was actually thinking about this earlier, because I want to throw myself a birthday party someday haha. I’m thinking maybe when I turn 30 (oh geez, that sounds soooooo old), and I’ll rent out a place and try to get an open bar. It’s very much influenced by Mamrie Hart’s (youtuber, best known for her You Deserve A Drink series) 30th party that she vlogged and it looked like so much fun!

But I don’t think I have enough friends or get paid enough to afford such a party so maybe a nice tea party would be good.

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?

I’m not sure! Something that isn’t very common for sure! I never knew any other Pamela’s until I started at my current company. I love the name Aria, so I’m going to go with that.

Favorite things to do in the summer?

Stay inside with the AC on. JK. Kinda. I love going to Six Flags, town festivals/celebrations/farmers markets, and working with my dad in his landscaping business. He works so much in the summer so often it feels like that’s the only way to spend time with him until winter!

What is a recent experience that has made you a stronger person?

This one is kind of complicated as it involves a lot of people. Basically I had to cut someone out of my life and a lot of her friends that I had known removed me on social media. Those that didn’t I generally removed over time since I obviously wouldn’t see them anymore. One of her friends that turned into a mutual friend actually followed me again on social media and I made the decision to not fault her for that person’s actions, which sounds silly but is hard for me to do. I followed her back and it’s nice to see what she’s up to, even though neither of us has gone out of our way to talk to each other. The most we do is “like” each other’s stuff. But she’s one of the people that really helped get me through my anxiety and panic attacks in the past so I’m always going to be grateful to her for that.

Maggie blogs about her amazing life! She is a great older sister to her two younger brothers and baby sister. Her posts range from baking, to her interviews with other bloggers, and so much more. I especially love her Little Accomplishments posts where she talks about what she’s been up to lately. It’s very motivational because she does so much! I also love reading about her lovely family!

outnaboutweb asked: when did you decide to start a blog and was it an easy or a scary decision for you?

I decided to start a blog in November of 2015, and that’s what I did! It was fairly easy, and actually I had always wanted to start a YouTube channel but that was too scary. Blogging sounded much better. Plus I was always being told I wrote well so it seemed like a good fit for my abilities. For me it was easy since I started it as a mostly beauty blog and put very little of my life on there. Overtime I shared more and more and I don’t really find it scary. But I am of the age where my parents would tell us that the internet was a dangerous place so maybe I should be? Whoops!

Elena is an amazing photographer, and posts a lot of great photos on her blog. She’ll also do posts on her thoughts and about blogging. One of my favorite posts from her is her 5 things non-bloggers don’t understand post because it was all so true! She’d posted it right smack dab in the middle of when I was doing BirthMay and two of my friends and coworkers went through all of these thoughts at the lunch table when I first explained BirthMay to them so it brought back memories.

Dippy-Dotty Girl asked: a turning point in your life?

I think the time I spent dealing (or not dealing) with my anxiety ended up being a turning point for me. Before that I don’t think I realized just how much mental health had affected me. Now I take opportunities or chase what I want to do, and appreciate that I am able to accept them so much more.

Arundhati is serious travel blogger goals. She and her husband live in England I believe and they prioritize travel as it’s a shared passion. I loved her recent post on her trip to Manhattan. As I’m someone who has only spent about two hours in NYC in her entire life, all of that time spent going from one airport to another, I think I need to make an actual trip there now! Her photos of her travel are just beautiful.

Don’t Give a Jam asked: if you could only use two makeup products for a look, which would you choose?

I would likely pick the Urban Decay Naked Foundation and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I love both of those products! That reminds me, I need to repurchase that foundation soon.

Jamie blogs all about beauty, fashion, and her fun life! She’s also super sports obsessed judging from her Instagram! We’re both LOFT fans as evidenced by her recent post where her boyfriend picked her outfits for the entire week! I didn’t even see it when she first put up this post, weirdly enough so I only saw it today when I went to go get another link but I loved this one so much, that’s the one I picked. He did a pretty good job! I was super impressed!

Elsie LMC asked: A LOT OF Q’S TOO!

If you could only write one type post for the rest of your blogging life what would it be?

Probably posts about my life. Those are the ones I enjoy reading the most and writing, so they’re my favorites at the moment.

And what will you do to treat yourself after 400 followers? You have to treat yourself!

Oooooo! I actually did treat myself to a few things from Ulta after shopping for my dad’s Father’s Day present! Does that count?

Lucy (although I keep calling her Elsie because of her blog name) blogs about her life in Ireland, beauty, and positive outlook on life! She also does posts about living with an undiagnosed chronic illness and her experiences thus far in her health journey. Her posts on this are very eye-opening and well written. She is also extremely supportive of others going through illnesses (physical and mental) and a wonderful person all around.

Everything EmmZeeBee asked: apart from blogging what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I feel like so much of my non-working and non-sleeping life is dedicated to blogging! I love to read on weekends in the mornings before I get up for the day. I also love going to see musicals although I always feel like I don’t go enough. Occassionally I’ll go running. I like running but only at the end so trying to get out the door is… difficult.

Emma is a chef who blogs a bit about everything! Food, of course, but also fashion, beauty, home, and her life as well. She recently took a trip to Ibiza and it looked amazing! She’s a fellow candle fan and a lovely person overall.

Amelia in Hull asked: what is your favourite childhood memory?

It’s hard to pick just one! One memory that comes to mind is when my parents took my sister and I to the American Girl Store in downtown Chicago when we were young to get us dolls! (The old location if you know it, but I don’t think I have many Chicago readers.) American Girl is a company that makes dolls that are meant to empower young girls. At the time when I was growing up they had historical characters they focused on which might actually be where my love for history started now that I think about it. It was such a good day and a great Christmas present!

Amelia is a UK blogger who focuses on her city of Hull. This year Hull is being highlighted as a City of Culture and her posts on the city’s art installations and other goings on is so cool to see!

lifeofangela asked: MANY Q’S!

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?

Mexico! My family and I have wanted to go to Cancun for so long and haven’t been able to go. I do want us to go somewhere this Christmas so we’ll see. But my parents have family in central Mexico so I’d love to go there as well. Their families are very kind and I love that I was able to see them last year, and hope it won’t be another ten years until I can see them again.

If there was a fire, and you could only save three things, what would you grab?

I’m assuming that my family is safe? If not, they’re my three things! (Mom, Dad, Sister, so ta-da!) If they are safe I’d likely save my laptop and phone first, as they’re important for just everything. I’m counting it as one item each though because I was initially going to cheat but I’m actually having trouble thinking of more items. I think it’s because they’re just things in the end and important papers (birth certificates, diplomas, passports, etc.) can be replaced. I’ll also save the large pink photo album my mom made of photos from when I was a baby and then when my sister and I were young. Those are cute.

What’s to your left right now?

My iPad is playing a YouTube video right now. I also have a bottle of water, my camera, and a ton of napkins for some reason. I need to clean this desk!

Angela, who confirmed she would save her wedding dress for sure (I can’t blame her, it’s gorgeous), blogs daily about her life. She shares her thoughts on what is going on around her and does lovely posts about her travels. Oh and I honestly can’t get enough of her wedding posts, and thankfully she’s not getting bored of writing about it! Oh and her baking posts never fail to make my stomach growl!

Pink for Days asked: SO MANY THINGS BECAUSE SHE’S NOSY AND I MEAN THAT IN THE MOST LOVING WAY!

What type of student were you?

The Hermione-you-could-have-gotten-us-killed-or-worse-EXPELLED kinda of student. School was my life. Until college and I just felt burnt out by then. But up until then definitely Hermione level. I was always reading and trying to learn more. Actually, I was always a good student, one of those that never had to study because I learned that easily. I always made top grades without really putting in that much effort, which gave me more time to read ahead in my textbooks and research interesting topics on my own.

Did you and your sister fight a lot growing up?

Not really. We usually got along. Oh, I was always annoyed that she was “copying” me but looking back I can’t blame her, because I did things like pick the best instrument for band, aka the flute, so obviously she wanted to do that too. We’ve always been close and continue to be to this day. I’m very thankful I got a little sister to share life’s adventures with!

Favorite type of weather?

I like it when it’s just chilly out so you need a sweater and boots, and lightly windy and slightly cloudy. Is it really too much to ask that it be like that every day?

What gets you in a bad mood?

Lols, what doesn’t? I get hangry soooooo much. I also don’t like slow walkers, bad drivers (THERE’S A SIGNAL LIGHT ON THAT CAR FOR A REASON), people who think they’re the center of the universe and driving 45 minutes is the worst thing ever for their first world self-centered lives, I could honestly go on and on.

What is the trashiest TV show you watch?

I don’t watch TV that much anymore but I actually did really love the Kardashians when I was in college. I loved that one episode where Kim loses her diamond earrings in the ocean and Kourtney goes “Kim people are dying.” Perspective Kim, perspective.

Oh I did use to watch the reality tv show called I Love Jenni which featured the life of a famous singer, Jenni Rivera. I don’t even know Jenni’s music but I loved her show and would watch it with my mother. The show ended when Jenni died in a terrible plane accident and I do miss it since she and her family were hilarious.

Can you sing or dance?

If my car could talk he’d probably tell you I’m delusional but I think I sound good when I sing in the car. I took a beginner ballet class in college and I mean, I was a beginner haha. I recently signed up for another adult ballet class so hopefully I retained some of that so I can get better! Ask me to do any other type of dance and I’ll run away as fast as my little legs can take me.

Cheila is an incredible lady. Not only does she write an amazing blog, she also has become an amazing friend to me as well. She blogs a lot about her life and thoughts. She’s an educator, student in English and North American Studies (minor in History), fur mommy, and is learning German, Italian, and to drive! Her boyfriend Rui sounds like a hilarious human, and Rosa the dog is just too precious. Cheila also shares her mental health journey and keeps a great sense of humor in her day-to-day life through it all (she named her new dishwasher, it’s adorbs). I’m totally obsessed with her life and don’t feel bad at all because she was a stalker first. Again, in the most loving way.

And I think that’s all the Q’s I got! I checked like 50 times so I’m like 99.9% sure I got them all. You know how that goes. I guess we can look forward to 500 now? Is that okay to say? I’m going to go with yes and I’m totally want to plan something fun! Oooooo maybe a video Q and A? I’ll have to think about this!

More new people keep joining us so welcome all you newbies! Of course, I’ll still answer any questions you have for me in the comments or we can do another Q and A in the future! Thank you everyone again for taking the time to read what I have to say and all your support thus far!

Thanks for reading!

  1. This was so much fun to read!! I learnt heaps about you, and I like that you included little tidbits about each of the people who asked you a question! As for the fire question, people were safe, I was curious about what things you’d want to save 😀

  3. Thank you so much for the kind words about my blog! I’m so glad you liked it and I think the to 10 cities – post is one of my most watched this year! It’s so cool that you speak Spanish as well. I only know like 5 words in that language, eventhough it is a really important language in the world. So many people speak Spanish, so if I want to do business with a Spanish-speaking country, I might try to learn it! I really liked this post and getting to know you better! Happy Sunday, xo ♥

    • Hahaha right? Apparently that’s the only thing I’m concerned about! 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it! And I thought it was just a good way to thank everyone for their questions, and gave me extra reason to stalk everyone to make sure there wasn’t a recent (or maybe older and cool) post I had missed. I need to go to a play! I haven’t been to one in ages but I love them! Musicals have priority though 😅 haha and yes, Kourtney just got to the point and didn’t put up with Kim’s crazy that day 😂 Thank you so much and have a great day!! 😀💖
