StarringPamela 2016 Blog Review! & 2017 Blog Goals!

Hey everyone! I saw this blog review going around the past week or so and thought I’d give it a try. I first saw this on Lui Maria’s blog, and it was created by The Beauty Analyst. In case you still want to give this a try, I’ll add all the questions below to copy and paste easily.

Here we go!

1.What has been your biggest blog challenge in 2016?

Definitely trying to decide what to write. I know all the blogs give the tip to “focus on one thing” and stick to that but that’s just not me. I have many hobbies and interests that I love to explore but it makes it hard to chose what to write about. If I post a book review then I realize I haven’t done a baking post in awhile, but then once I do that I think that I haven’t done an adventure post in the past few months, and then when was the last time I did a beauty review post??

I can see why blogs chose to focus on only equestrianism, or only books, or only beauty. That’s why I call mine an overall “lifestyle” blog but sometimes it feels like I can’t keep up with all aspects of life as well as I should be.

2.Has your blog changed since you started it?

Oh yes it really has! My blog is about a year and a month old, and I reached 100 followers this month. It’s not the biggest or fastest growth, but I think it’s all right. My blog is still mainly to strangers, I don’t often share it with people I personally know although they could find it if they really wanted to as I link it to my Instagram.

3.What was your biggest blog achievement in 2016?

I entered the year with a new blog that I was not consistently posting and this year I managed to post on my scheduled days for the most part. I’ve really redoubled my efforts in the second half of the year and now regularly post on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This month I successfully completed Blogmas and I actually put a post up every day except the 27th, as I ended up putting up extra posts for New Year’s and to Review 2016. I consider it a great achievement to have kept up with my blog for a full year!

4.What has been your most viewed post of 2016?

My most viewed post was my Product Review – Maybelline Fit Me! post. It seems so long ago that I was so obsessed with these products! It was a very good line, and continues to be among my favorites.

5.What has been your least viewed post of 2016?

My least viewed post was my monthly review post, My November Life! post. It was a quiet month for me so that may be why, but it was also published during Blogmas so it could also be that everyone wanted to focus on Christmas already!

6.Which post did you most enjoy writing in 2016?

Ah! My #PamelaInMexico posts! I did four of them that covered everyday of the week and a half trip included my trip to the pyramids, Acapulco, Morelia, and Mexico City. I also did a gifts I brought back post, style haul, and a beauty haul as well. I really enjoyed my vacation in Mexico and enjoyed looking back on it after!

7.What has been the best thing about being a blogger?

The creativity I’m allowed to share with the community and that they in turn share with me. I follow a ton of really amazing blogs and some of them even follow me as well! Being a part of such a wonderful community is amazing and I wouldn’t ever want to give it up now.

As promised, the questions for the review are below. Let me know if you’ve done your review or if you do this one so I can check it out!

Now for my blog goals for 2017.

  1. I want to become more active in the blogging community. I don’t often comment on posts I read so I want to do that more, and I hope to make a few blogging friends.
  2. I want to continue to consistently post on my scheduled days.
  3. I hope to keep up with my categories more evenly or even chose more specific areas of focus for my blog so I don’t feel like I have too many topics to write about.
  4. I want to take better photos for my blog. I often do things in my life with the intention of getting photos to share later, but then I forget to take them and then I have nothing to post! I also want to stop recycling so many photos as well.
  5. I want to do more reviews and thought-provoking posts. I want to get away from the hauls and the same type of posts that I’ve gotten comfortable with.

Let me know if you have a type of post that you’d like to see me do more of! That would really help me as I continue to restructure my blog.

So that’s my 2016 Blog Review and 2017 Blog Goals! Happy New Year’s Eve everyone and see you in 2017!

Thanks for reading!
