Hi everyone! For as much as 2016 went terribly wrong for the world, it wasn’t all that bad to me personally. It was pretty good! Today I thought I’d take a look back through my year. My goal for 2016 was to do more things that make me happy, and I did as much of that as possible!
I’d always wanted to learn how to ride horses, so I started taking lessons in April of this year. I’d never ridden before so I was a complete beginner and now I’m firmly in the novice category. I’ve ridden three different horses, Sapphire (my favorite!), Kerry, and Chopper. I ride once a week and while I would love my own horse I haven’t quite decided if I’m at that point yet.
I also went to musicals like crazy this year! I think my favorite was Hamilton because I became so obsessed with the musical and still am! But I also saw Evita, which was a musical that I had waited such a long time to see! The Phantom of the Opera was another long-awaited musical for me. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was extra special because Belle is my favorite Disney Princess and it was for my birthday. I saw two musicals, Swan Lake (which was actually my second time seeing this ballet) and the Nutcracker. I saw How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Singin’ in the Rain, and The Book of Mormon just because the opportunities came up this year on top of that. After exiting the theatre for each one I couldn’t help but sing the songs to myself and replay my favorite scenes in my mind.
I was fortunate enough this year to take a week and a half long vacation with my mom to visit Mexico. We saw family, visited some amazing landmarks, and she even surprised me with a trip to Acapulco! It was truly amazing and I can’t wait to visit again.
Another unexpected trip I took was my first work trip, to an orientation in Cleveland for a mentoring program I’m a part of! I was really only there for two days and both days I was at the office or the hotel doing orientation stuff but it was so much fun and I’m so happy I was able to go!
I also had the chance to meet a few Youtubers and authors this year! I went to quite a few book signings and had a blast each time!
Oh! And my little sister graduated!!!
I voted proudly for Her.
Went to a few conventions! Okay, just two but still fun! C2E2 and BookCon!
Enjoyed the entire year to the max.
And in case you want to look back on my entire year yourself, here’s the links to all my monthly recaps of 2016!
December – Coming Next Week Wednesday!
So that was my 2016! It was a ton of fun and I’m looking forward to 2017 and seeing what that brings. How about you guys? Is anyone else super excited for 2017?
Thanks for reading!
