Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me!

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day. Today, I’m reviewing some products from the Maybelline Fit Me! range. I had briefly mentioned this line in my Drugstore Make Up and Other Items post on January 29 when I first purchased the items and I’ve taken them out on a few trial runs already. Here are my thoughts.

First up is the Fit Me Foundation in the Matte and Poreless finish. This formula is marketed for people with oily and combination skin. I actually have two of these. The first one I bought was in 322 Warm Honey. I really loved this one except it was just a tad too dark. I think it will be perfect for the summer when I darken up a bit. I usually try to stay out of the sun and wear unreasonable amounts of SPF in the summer but since I work outside for my dad’s landscaping business and increasingly engage in outdoor activities (hiking, running, relaxing at the beach, etc.) it’s not something I can prevent all the time.

I went back to Target and picked up the shade 230 Natural Buff after doing the online quiz from Maybelline that helps you pick out the products that will best fit you. I think this color is a tad too light for me so I guess I just can’t win! I feel like this line is either very light or very dark. There are three more shades in between the two that I have so I might go back to pick up a third shade but honestly, they’re so close I think it might not be worth going back for another bottle.

This foundation is $5.99 at Target and I have to say that I love it. I find myself reaching for this one over my more expensive high-end foundations because I feel like this one really fits my skin and makes it look absolutely perfect. I am having trouble finding the right shade which is a bummer but other than that I couldn’t be happier with it. This formula is extremely buildable and it does greatly minimize the appearance of pores. With this foundation I still have to use powder to get rid of shine throughout the day but it’s not as shiny as it has been with other foundations. One thing I really don’t like about this foundation is that it doesn’t come with a pump. I’m a really big fan of pumps for foundations as I like to keep the mess to a minimum but I’ve learned to be patient so I don’t get a giant glob of foundation on my hand. Still for $5.99, I’ll take it.

The next product is the Fit Me Matte and Poreless Powder in 230 Natural Buff. The powders don’t come in as many shades as the foundations but the packaging is great. The powder sits on the top where you can see it through the little window and then when you lift the powder you find a little applicator and a mirror. I haven’t used the applicator with it yet, I’ve only used it with my Bare Minerals Flawless Face brush which is technically meant for powder foundations but I find that it works great.

I don’t think the lasting power is as good for this powder as the Laura Mercier Translucent powder or the Besame Brightening Vanilla Translucent powder but if you want a powder with color, I think this is a good one. Also, this is $5.99 so for the price, it’s also really good.

The last product I have from the range is the Fit Me Concealer in 25 Medium. Fun story, the only thing I was shopping for at the time when I started buying all this Fit Me stuff was a concealer yet I walked out with powders and foundations as well. Oh Target! This concealer is $4.39 and it amazing. Although I have the shade 25 Medium the online test I took told me I should get the shade 20 Sand so I might go back for that color as well.

I really like the concealer. It blends well, covers up my dark spots, and small blemishes.  I haven’t had the chance to use this one as much as I would like so I am going to continue to put this one to the test but so far I’m impressed. Concealer is something I don’t use often so I need to get better about applying it everyday. I use the Bare Minerals Concealer brush with it and I feel like they’re a good combination.

So that wraps up my thoughts on the Fit Me range by Maybelline! The line also has a dewy and smooth range that is meant for people with normal to dry skin as well as blushes and bronzers. I really like the line so far so I might go back to pick up a blush or bronzer later but for now I’m happy with the products that I have. These are now my first choice products to use and I think Maybelline is now my favorite drugstore brand.

I’ll have a new post on Friday so please follow my blog to be notified when that’s posted. Thanks for reading!
