December is one of my favorite months in the year and I’m sorry to see it go. I didn’t have too many favorites this month, since I mostly kept using the November favorites but here are a few!
First up this month is the Tarte Park Ave Princess Tres Chic contour palette. This is actually from the 2014 collection and was limited edition. This version has the Park Ave Princess bronzer, Posh blush, and Champagne Gold highlight in mine and I think those colors are perfect for the winter months. The new version is the same except for the blush, which seems to be a bit more peach and sells for $34. I would consider the newer one to be a good summer alternative to this one. This one is a dewier palette and I prefer that look in the winter myself.
Last month I forgot to pack a mascara in my make up bag (I know, how is that even possible??) but luckily I was able to stop by Target that morning before heading into work. I picked up the CoverGirl Star Wars Limited Edition Super Sizer Mascara in the waterproof formula for $5.99. There are ten different phrases on the mascaras and I got 3/10 “You’re my only hope” which I was quite happy with. Supposedly it gives you more volume but I think it’s more of a lengthening mascara which I prefer anyway. Now, I haven’t tried many drugstore mascaras so I can’t compare it to many others, but this one has definitely given me confidence to try some more.
Continuing my new found obsession with peony perfumes I bought the Chloe perfume roller ball. The complete list of notes in the perfume, per Sephora’s website, are pink peony, freesia, lychee, magnolia flower, lilly of the valley, rose, cedar wood, amber, and honey. It retails for $28 on the Sephora website and is 0.2oz. It doesn’t seem to last too long for me but I keep it in my bag to reapply it every so often, or at least when I remember. I enjoy the scent and I may have to purchase a full sized bottle!
My final favorite is my Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in No. 319 Military Red. I really love wearing red lips but as you can probably guess from the perfume above, I forget to reapply my lipstick sometimes. Luckily with this one I don’t need to worry about it. Also, I have dry lips, so I normally forgo wearing matte lipsticks although I love them. With this one, I don’t have to worry about it. The creamy formula gives me the benefit of hydrated lips along with the beautiful matte finish that I love. I did buy this one from Nordstrom’s for $34. I love the detailing on the sides of the bullet and the packaging feels sturdy and nice, although I don’t feel the magnet is strong enough to hold the tube closed in my make up bag so I always keep it in one of the inside pockets of my handbag, so it can stay upright.
And that’s the end of my December favorites! Next week I’ll post my 2015 overall favorites. Be sure to check back next Wednesday and thanks for reading!
