November is nearly over and looking back, I’ve done quite a bit.
First, I participated in, and won, this year’s NaNoWriMo contest! For those of you who don’t know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Each November “NaNo” challenges writers from around the world to write a 50,000 word work of fiction. I won once before in college and had attempted but did not win once or twice after that. This year I’m proud to say that I won! My username on the NaNo site is Ines99 if anyone wants to add me as a writing buddy. It went really well and I’m starting to think my 2016 goal should be to publish my book? We shall see!
I took a trip up to Milwaukee (I live in the Chicagoland area) and went to see a performance of Wicked. In the past few years I’ve become a bigger fan of musical theatre and Wicked has been on my “To See” list for a long time. I was blown away by the production. I’ve listened to the album countless times and finally seeing the staging along with the music was absolutely amazing. There was one negative, the little girl in front of me was not ready for the 3 hour performance and got realllllly distracting at the end but overall, I had a blast.
And one more thing, it finally snowed! Around here, it doesn’t feel like November until it has snowed properly. Up in the northern suburbs we got anywhere from 11 inches to 20 inches.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving tomorrow!
